Hi,
I just moved from MN to WA and am wondering if anyone is from this area and knows the bus lines well? I don't have a car right now and will rely on public transportation. So I am wondering what would be the fastest or best buses to take or what time to leave, ect. I will be working at Bungie in Kirkland.
Thank you,
Matt

Congrats on the job at Bungie!
From what I understand about Seattle, you'll likely need a car to really be able to do everything you want (as it has quite a sprawl happening, despite the various geological enclosures).
See if anyone at Bungie offers a car-pool. Spend the first little while in an area near the office.

Hey Matt,
Yeah congrats on the job. I've lived in Redmond for 3 years and have recently moved to monroe. I work at microsoft.
Do you live in bellevue now? Here is the Metro online web site. It has all of the bus routes and info on different comuting options.

I've never used the bus, but this site should get you started in the right direction.
Welcome to Washington!!:)
I checked out your website, you got some cool stuff on there. If you ever want to get some coffee and talk 3D let me know.

THanks alot guys. Wasghington is very pretty, and I like the temp. right now. It's about 90F back home.
I did get some bus info. the other day, but it said about an hour ride from Bothell to Kirkland.. which isn't horrible, but is quite long too. I am meeting someone today at a starbucks to sign papers and set my direct deposit setup and whatnot for the job. I start on Monday so I need to get this bus thing figured out, or at least get a cab so I can get to the job next week.
I will checkout the link you posted and see what I can find.

if you can find an express line, those are the fastest sometimes you have to pay a little more but its worth it, if you plan on having the bus as your main form of transportation be sure to move somewhere close or with a 15 min or less walk from a line that will get you there fast. also I dont know if you switch buses but usually its faster if you find one and walk a little more. and lastly if its an hour one way and an hour the other, the plain and simple answer is deal with it, take a ipod a book, sleep, its better to have a bus commute to work than to be unemployed or paying crazy gas prices, plus your helping the environment and helping the nation to reduce its dependency on foreign oil. I am moving this weekend and the first thing I looked for is a direct line to work around 30 min, its impossible to park in the city without paying an arm and a leg. lastly, welcome ;)

lol, thanks for the input :). I don't think I live by an express line. I can check it out though. If I have to ride the bus for an hour though, it's not a huge deal. I'm used to drive 1 hr + to college 65 miles one way each day. Well I used to do that anyways, during rushhour. I have an iPod, and found out my company I am working for has Apple discounts, so I can get a new Iphone or iPod touch cheaper :).
