I had someone recently ask me about schools and scholarships particularly for gaming art, but I know there are way better schools for art than the one I went to. I really couldn't give him much info other than learning from tutorials on the net, some of the forums I'm on and checking out the Art Institutes.

So I'm suggesting adding next to Fulltime and Freelance a forum for Students that may be looking for internships, school reviews, or any career related stuff for potential game industry students.

that would be nice, and maybe indie projects?

i would appreciate it very much.

maybe even making a forumproject that offers students to work on a imaginary title that is leaded by people who are already in the bussiness. so we can be introduced a bit into working as a team.

this sounds a bit like the contests...ok, forget it. ;)

It's a very good idea, but I not sure it's wise making a review forum for schools in a game art forum. If someone says a certain school is a piece of junk, it would be really bad publicity for a school. I am positive if this happened, I would no doubt personally hear from the school in question.

Dario --> There might be another method of getting a feel for working under a lead. This will be released in the next comp. However, a big problem with getting really good people in the biz is that they don't usually have time to start a whole new project on the side. If they do have time, artists of this kind are extremely rare because they need talent, forum social skills and a desire to genuinely help others.

You can allways just join MOD teams its a great way to learn new stuff and game companys will probably ask for it in interviews (thats when you apply for intern ship or a position that does not require anny "real" industry experience)
