Hey guys,

Just a heads up that my second making Of has been published over at 3dtotal. You can see it here: http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials_3/leviathan/leviathan_01.asp

It's more of the same regarding my Thrull tutorial but I tried to explain myself a little bit more. I'm also working on a new character and am planning on writing the tutorial as I create him...it'll be a lot easier for me that way. That way I'll have WIP shots of my textures and stuff rather than the finished product.

If you can think of things that you would like me to go more in depth on, please let me know and maybe I can cover it in the next tutorial.

Thanks,
Gav

Just finished reading. Great stuff as usual. Thanks!
I'm a little confused on how make your normal maps though. You put your game rez model with uvmaps into Zbrush and then overlay the high res version over it?

Thanks guys.

I used the Zmapper plugin that captures the normal information of the high poly mesh and then projects it onto the low poly model that is unwrapped. ZB3 doesn't have this plugin yet, though, so I'll probably be using XNormal for it :)

Thanks again,
Gav

I already told you this but your consistent and very well thought out work flow is something that should be admired by all :)

Thanx again for the tutorial Gavin, I will be utilising all your tutorials within the next couple of weeks. Also wish those bugs/missing plugz where fixed in z3 already...
