Hey all!

I am excited to mention that we have a Amazing 3D Modeling Competition being hosted at ww.digitalapprentice.net ! This competition is open for registration right now and is FREE to enter! The event is sponsored by Softimage - Pixologic - Luxology & Wacom! The prizes lined up are pretty sweet! We have an All Star line of judges that are artists who have worked on projects like: Half-Life 2, War of the Worlds, Hellgate London, Star Wars Episode 2, Resident Evil 5, Matrix 2 & 3, Team Fortress 2, Transformers and James Camerons' up coming scifi epic - Avatar. This should be a pretty awesome... definitely something all you modelers out there should check out!

We also have some pretty cool interviews and production spotlight features on the site. Right now we have JELMER BOSKMA on the site plus an Epic Games - Unreal Tournament 3 Xbox360 production feature interview with Lead Concept Artist, JAY HAWKINS - Lead Artist, PAUL JONES - Senior Animator, SCOTT DORRSETT. Check it out!

The site also features downloadable content (DVD content coming soon) from professional artists working in Games and Film industries. I just released my first content series for animation called "Animation Foundations" - this one is designed for aspiring animators. One of the chapters is Free - take a look and let me know what you think of it!

Special thanks to Game Artisans - one of the biggest baddest sites on the planet. We need to talk :mugs: Cheers! -D

Allright
> Visited your site, saw a loading bar that got stuck at 3%
> Couldnt find any buttons on the top that linked to anything remotely connected to the contest
> Had to wait a minute for the index to load, finally saw the link to the contest
> Read the brief, couldnt find any info if it was a high-poly(movie?) or low-poly(game?) model, so I explored the site a bit but still couldnt find anything(the layout of the site is pretty confusing, I didnt know which articles/areas are about game-art or movie-art 90% of the time)
> Saw the registration link: why would I want to register for something Im not even sure of I can do?
> I visited the forums to see if anybody else knew whats up with the specs of the contest, only to find the entire forum to be empty.

In the end I spent about 10 minutes looking for information, and I still dont know if the contest is about game or video art. You should seriously consider dropping the registration(I really hate having to register on a new site I dont know, and Im sure many more people feel the same) or give out more information beforehand.

Direct link to the competition page.

In recent years Movies and Video Games like Half Life 2, Metal Gear Solid, Transformers, War of the Worlds, Unreal Tournament & Iron Man have depicted amazing Robots, Mechs, Machines and Military Vehicles. In light of these awesome Films and Game creations -- we are gearing our first modeling challenge under their influence!

The 1st Annual Digital Modeling Competition is a Hard Surfaced Modeling Challenge.

So I guess your making a robot or master chief of your own design, no details on specifications but some snazzy prizes just the same, though the list of judges makes me tremble in my boots.

Wow! Sounds like someone really didn't like the website :) Sorry you had such a hard time with it - Kwakkie. We'll do our best to make sure it becomes more user friendly.

As J Randall posted -- the details are listed right on the contest page, which is located in two places on the Community Homepage. There is also a link on the contest page to the Rules which gives visitors a good amount of info about the contest -- #10 states that the contest is open for Game and Film creations.

We are sorry about the registration - the response has been very positive so far. User information is never shared with any outside parties or vendors. Maybe you'll feel better about registering for the next one.

If you have any further questions fire away. Cheers, -D
