So, I haven't used ZB3 yet but I'm wondering what the viewport is like. The one thing that annoyed me about zBrush was that it didn't really feel like you were working in 3d. Which is one thing I really like about mudbox. Is zbrush 3 just like zbrush 2 in that perspective? Or does it feel more 3d? Just wondering...

Welcome to the jungle bbox :) hehe I agree that, ZBrush UI like a Huge Jungle but I love it .

Anyway,

There is a plugin named QuadQuick for Multi-View modeling in ZB3.
You can try this....

it is pretty much the same as z2. rendering engine is still the same but only faster when it comes to brush strokes. navigation is still quite laggy. if you use a big monitor zbrush is actually slower than mudbox because its all software render. mudbox is hardware render since its pure 3d and hence faster even in big resolutions.
for dedicated sculpting i would say use mudbox. for other needs such as texturing, zbrush with zapplink can be really helpful.

well if you're referring to 3d perspective view, then it's finally there. right under the draw dropdown, there's a small button "perspec", that you have to click to get the perspective view.
