Hola

So... I'm very new to Z Brush. I am confident that I will get some pretty sweet results for the current comp... but only if I can find the damn EDGE LOOP button...

I'm currently blazing through the "character modeling using z spheres" tutorial in the "Practical Guide" for Z Brush 2.0. I am now at the stage where I am getting the lowpoly mesh ready for actual brushing, as it were.

They tell me to hide everything but the "arms" so we can add "edgeloops" to that section of the geometry.

There is no edge loop button under geometry, nor is there even a "DelLower" button that they display in the tutorial.

I'm thinking about just importing the model into MAX now and saving myself the headache of wondering what I did wrong in steps 1 thru 2,998,865.

I know I'm being snotty, it just pisses me off when things don't appear where they should.

Thanks, if any one can help.

J

I'd be interested to know this too:p I worked around this problem for a while now, but it would be good to know how to add edges to certain areas.

it's wierd... they show the graphic of the buttons in question and then they're just not in the program.

Oh well: Edit Polygon > Ignore Backfacing > Cut

That's what I'm about to do ;)

i think if u select an edge, then press loop, then press connect... that kinda dus the same effect, but one at a time

To add some edge loops in ZBrush, hide all the geometry/faces you don't want to modify, so only the faces you want to add the edge loops to are displayed, then under Tool>Geometry press Edge Loop.
