and was wondering, how does that whole facial modifier thing actualy work?? because its amazing
anyone know? lol

Could be morph targets.. It's just a clever lay out of polygons allowing the user to increase/decrease the size of certain poly's.

ya they have a sweet char generator. the nose breaking is a nice touch.. thats probably handled with a special bone that tweaks just the mesh in that area. (it could also be a completely different head depending on how their budgets panned out) it looks like they are also swapping normal maps on some meshes, and using completely different head meshes in other cases. the texturing and alpha/decal work is a huge part of it also. they probably dont have more than 10 or so heads (per race, gender, etc...), based on what ive seen in other games. id be surprised if they are using morph targets, it is typically still too performance heavy for real time (something to do with floating point vertex layers LOLZ). . they might make the heads using morph targets in max (as a faster work flow), and then export them as individual heads. Regardless of the implementation, it came out sweet... :paper:
