Previously a competition forum, now a Competition Gallery Forum; Welcome to a revised version of GameArtisans.org:thumb:

New Features:

- Personal Galleries
Only Artisans who finish a competition may have a gallery on GA.org. Once inside, you can submit revised competition works, wallpapers, and up to 10 personal works that are non-competition related.

- New Titles
GA Civilian, Game Artisan, Elite Artisan and finally, Master Artisan. The higher up you go in ranks, the more attention you get as an artist.

- Archives
A place to store all past comps in a nice and orderly fashion:D

- Tutorials
An area where you can submit and read tutorials about creating game art, and only game art.

- Spotlights
All winners will be interviewed and stored in this nice and neat section.

- Wallpapers
Artists may now automatically submit up to 3 larger size/res files for each comp entered.

- Jobs
Fulltime and freelance Jobs can now be posted simultaneously in the forum, and on the gallery site.

- FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions (Note.. English needs to be massively corrected! It's on the "to do" list:flag: )

And finally

- Big Brother
It is Big Brother's aim to offer help at an affordable cost to artists in need of some serious critiques for their work. For one competition, A big brother will help, guide, tutor and motivate a fellow artist under his charge.

This is not a training course. You will not be taught how to create 3D. Instead, you will be shown how to make something ok, Look much much better. Read the big brothers page for further details.

Hope you like the new changes:)

Nice setup :thumb:

Only thing i would suggest is a "Artist looking for work" section where freelance artists can advertise their service.

- New Titles
GA Civilian, Game Artisan, Elite Artisan and finally, Master Artisan. The higher up you go in ranks, the more attention you get as an artist.

btw, how exactly does the title go up? if it is by taking part in competitions then it could become misleading. a really good artists might not get a good title because they didnt take part in competitions?

mashru: take a look here: http://www.gameartisans.org/gamecon/artisans.htm

this explains how points are awarded, since Fred's focus for this this site is competition, that's what the points are based on. I wouldn't worry about folks that don't have time to participate in the comps, Fred has also spotlighted artists who posted artwork that isn't involved in competition; good work usually pulls in people regardless of any forum ranking system.

mashru --> Done. There is a new forum for Artisans for Hire:thumb:

Frozen --> Thanks:) The Homepage is still pretty empty. Hope it will fill out in the weeks ahead.

Keo --> Yeah, all features on gameartisans are put in place to give artists exposure. If someone doesn't have a gallery, yup, there are always other options.

Thanks for all the hard work going into here... the Big Brother stuff sounds great too. I'll keep an extra ear open to the mentor critiques :] (actually, everybody is a peer here, so even better!)
