Hey guys my question is fairly simple I think. I am about to import a model into zbrush but it is not a solid mesh, it consists of a few objects. I was wondering if I can import the whole group of meshes as a single object file, or if I need to export each piece individually? Here is an image so I can illustrate my question........
Should I export the armor, eyeballs, beard...etc... as a single obj. file or individual obj. files?

I would export each piece individually from their current locations on the mesh so you dont have to do any moving in zbrush. Main reason why i say export them as seperate objects is because as a whole your sub dividing the whole mesh at one time so your not reaching the highest level of quality as you could get. If you do them individually your able to max out each sub tool to your computers best settings. In my eyes its worth it and its not that hard to manage either.

Nice mesh!

K cool ty, it's my first time using zbrush for a mesh from 3ds max so I wasn't quite sure how to do it.
And thankyou for the compliment, it's quite rough yet but I'll probably post in wip once I get gong a bit:)

Could export it all as one, and then use group split. Hold ctrl over groupsplit to get the context help and see if it would do what you want.

yeah, but if you export it as one group it becomes off-centered and you can't turn on x-symmetry properly. i'd export all the symmetrical parts as one and the rest as something else. then in zbrush you can go "make polygroups" or something like that, then hold ctrl+shift and click on an element, then split it in the subtool area.
that's what i'd do anyways.
