Well, for those who don't know, Baby Head comes from an arcade beat em up game called "Captain Commando". Man I remember spending all those tokens, skipping tuition for this game. Sure was fun.

Did some thumbnails. Would like to know which one I should focus. C & C most welcome. ^^

Personally, I am liking number 2. Number 5 is cool too, but it looks too futuristic and it's organic rounded shape would take away from a robot figure that also acts like a crib:p No 2 has the bars on top, and its box-like shape really ties in well with his pilot. But, this is just me:D Nice start!:thumb:

Tks for the crits dude. I choose no 2 and did a more detail sketch. Tell me if I am going the right direction. I was thinking his chest area can open up and Baby Head can escape in his rocket crib or something.

Bringing back fun memories of Captain Commando.. the drawing is looking pretty cool. The one thing that might make it more interesting is to play up the baby idea a little more.. really run with the idea that as hardcore as he is, it's still a friggin baby piloting this huge mech. Could make the cage design more crib-like.. have some toys or a mobile dangling from it. Or have a teddy bear tied on.. or maybe throw in a teddy bear or dinosaur painting onto the mech itself.. like nose art on WW2 bombers.

It'd be cool if it could convert to stroller...the top part at least...also keep thinking a mobile attached to the top would be cool...just ideas but this is looking really and shaping up nicely.

very cool look. cant wait to see where you take this in the final image. i liked stroller 3, personally. it isn't a literal stroller but it definitely reminds you of a stroller. subtlety and metaphor is key! it is better integrated in to the look and feel of the rest of the mech as well. good luck!

Tks guys for the wonderful feedbacks. Weird thing I was doing some sketches of the Jet body (Ver. 1) but since the stroller seems like a great addition, I tried to incorporate it in Ver. 2. Hopefully it looks better.

It's funny that you made a little baby bottle holder in there:p I like version #1. I know it lacks the shielding option of version#2, but I prefer the bars more. Maybe it's because they remind of the movie Aliens 2 or maybe it's because having open bars will in effect, be a nice contrast to the rest of your heavy and solid robot.

Rain: Tks! All healthy babies esp geniuses like Baby Head need a baby bottle filled with nourishment. hehe! I do like the bars (inspired by Aliens 2 as u said) but the bars tend to get in the way of being in front of Baby Head when I am doing poses. Maybe I can try some low bars or something.

looks really nice, the only suggestion i have at this point is pretty minor, but you know how you have that little decal on one side of the jet torso? The little superman-esque figure? I think those little details help connect the huge robot exterior with the little baby pilot and tie them together. Maybe you could put that decal on the visible side of the jet torso in that final pose, if it's going to be facing that way. In other words, mirror-image the torso so that the right side is now the left, and the little image shows up in the final beauty-shot.

The real tough one is colouring it. I aint good in colouring. Probably do some of the model sheets sketches and leave the painting for weekends.

Aww I was really hoping to see the final of this. I hope you finish it, even if not for the competition! As far as the cleaned up lineart, it would be nice to see a little more variation in line weight, I think it would make the design read a little better (some of the areas feel a little noisy because there are so many lines with the same weight).

Either way, I still really like this redesign.

Ahh.. So close, the drawing is all there. It would be cool to see it finished for sure. Its so over the top and awesome! My one crit/suggestion would be to turn his right hand towards him a little bit, so that its not directly in line with his forearm - but thats just a suggestion. Works fine as is.

I don't see any disclaimer on the mini challenge about using a concept already started...robot and driver...sounds like you, man, but you better finish it and well or some of us will kick your ass. Just because you have a jump on everyone else don't think it's gonna be easy. Good luck.
