I'm not sure whether I'll have time to finish this before the deadline, but I shall give it a go.
I'll be remaking my first game character, A half-life character who was (if I remember rightly) supposed to be some sort of psychotic punk with makeshift armour and a rather serious drug habit.
Heres the original concept, such as it is:

and the only render I can find of the original model

Really funny character, I love the expresion of face on original model.
But I must ask what it is on her breast on old model, I guess they are PET bottles

I think they're the tops of fire extinguishers. The armour is going to go through a fairly major redesign, but I do want to keep the sense that its made of a bunch of found object tied and welded together.

Haha, nice man, I do like the idea of the fire extinguisher breastplates. Will be interesting to see where you go with the redesign. Good luck!:thumb:

You know what? So do I:

I haven't decided whether this is awesome or just insane. Probably a little of both.
Legs haven't been worked on at all yet. Still a fair bit of refinement and modification to go.

pretty nice start i like it. I think you should make the shoulders less wide to accentuate the big belly even more. The rest of the design is alright. But everything seems a bit unconnected, for example the glove, the chains, the bolts and so on. try to find a flow there. I like the face and the plates on breast and belly.

Good to see you join in dude...head seems a little strange at the mo...throw a bit more meat into it as well as her neck. Will be interesting to see where you take this.

Yeah, the head is pretty much a straight update of the original that I painted before the rest. It's something I'll look into, along with the broad shoulders that I messed up after redrawing them 5-6 times trying different.
As for flow... thats not something I know much about really. I know what you mean and I agree, I just don't really know what to do about it.

Fixed most of the things that sucked about the initial mockup sketch. I'm pretty happy with how this is looking now.

Not sure what I want to do with the right arm, if anything. It works quite well without decoration, I guess.

very nice man. I love the spring under the shoe haha
how about a little bandage on the arm, a tatoo, some jewelry there are lots of things fitting...

That's a slightly disturbing drawing you got there :) .
Does the extingiushers still work?

Alright, well I didn't get all that far with this thing, but at least I've got the beginings of a decent portfolio piece. Details are still kinda mushy at this stage and I'm tweaking a bit as I go along. Hands haven't been sculpted at all yet.

This is truly wicked man. I really like her face. Such an evil grin. I can imagine her hacking someone to pieces with that grin on her face:lol: You are doing a great job. Keep chiseling away at her:thumb:

That face... it's priceless. And it's correct to boot. Nice job.
Sexy.
Hell yeah, I'd hit it.
With a 2x4 :P
But seriously, I love what you've got so far. If I were to be nit picky (me? heaven forbid..) I'd say the high poly would benefit from some more work at lower subdivision levels, trying to get more details in there, before attacking the higher ones.
Though as I said, that's just nit picky, she looks pretty gorgeous so far. Well.. not gorgeous, more like.. um..
Nevermind.

That face.. scary yet funny at the same time:p I really like that you put a lot of effort in the face. The face is always what sells your character and right now.. I would buy her lock, stock and barrel.
For the body, yeah, a little more smoothness with the strokes could help, but, nevertheless, it's really looking good. Looking forward to an update.
