Some sketches for his mask

I thought the character is so open, design wise, so Im going to try and make this more like the 1995 design.
Looking good, you could also look at some old asian armors to gather up some new ideas for youto get cracking on some stronger forms.
I like the first one and 3rd one, keep going.

Yeah, there are a lot of possibilities with this one. Like sinz mentioned, I am sure you can find something with a google image search for asian armors and masks. Perhaps if you take him to the extremes, and armored him up as a total sumerai, it would be cool.
Keep those ideas flowing:thumb: Good luck

Some updates. I thought of making the body like an exoskeleton suit. I might put some armor on him but nothing extreme, as fredh suggested, probably just shoulder pads and such.

I like this look. His body looking streamlined and that flare out hair stands out. Looking good man.

Haha I always hated Yoshimitsu just because he was the most unbalance and cheesiest fighter in the roster back then but I have to say your take on him is very interesting. I like the waif like look and crazy hair, are you going to add color as well? The reason I ask is because looking at your image I see in my head striking blue ass the base with red, white and touches of gold mixed in. This is a very inspiring piece that I would love to take a crack at making one day. I shall add this to the inspiration folder for future reference, once again cool stuff and I can’t wait to see more!

I am digging the pose and the new look. The flowing hair really gave him a coolish look. Niice. Besides this, it's a bit to early to crit, but so far, nice work man. Keep it up:thumb:
No crits...! But looking forward to seeing more!!!

Final design, I guess. I'm not too happy with the color, looks a little bland. Any suggestion or critiques would be really helpful.

nice image. i think the reason it looks "bland" is that your image is almost completely black and white. if that is suppose to be a matte-finished white armor then maybe use a blue-ish shadow, or even a beige-ish shadow. experiment. right now you don't have a strong core shadow either so you are losing form, unless that is the style you are going for. the hair doesn't have any lighting (and lacks form as a result) either. anyway these are my comments, but i could completely understand if you are trying to stylized your image. good luck.

Not exactly stylized its just the way I draw. I not very good at creating form with my shadow, I know its a very basic redering, light over here and shadow over there, but I'm learning. I tinted the shadow with blue and played around with the constrast tell me what you think.

Does anyone know how to make my filesize less than 200k without making it look crap??

It turns out pretty cool. Try using Photoshop 'save for web' n clicking the 'optimized' and 'progressive', should be able to get good quality for below 200k size

turnd out very nice man, style is looking nice, tought it looks like youshi is going to fall...
try this, try to rotate the perspective+floor(like a dynamic perspective scene) or try to rotate the character...or just his leg.
