New Killzone 2 In game shot!

and I thought I'd post it for those who haven't seen it yet. This is pretty uninspiring and I can't believe Sony would release this crap:eek: as there first official shot of Killzone 2. The development team must be up in arms over this Sh&^T!:mad:

I dont think that this screen is soooo crappy, may be just badly chosen shot (very badly, if telling the truth). But after that E3 pre-rendered trailer and then this $^&*, people feels that them deceived, and they splash out their emotions in the forums. And I can't believe that devs didn't expect such reaction to this screen... so... can this be just a joke by any chance? I heard that more screens coming in next few days... will see.

I'd just be happy to work for a company like sony entertainment, though I see the reasons to get upset. For those waiting on at least a word of the title's coming these shots wouldn't be inspiring to run out and purchase it when it comes out.

I still see most fans around judge this as some sort of world-ender, best graphics ever!! Personally, they're good, but there's better (Gears, UT3, Crysis, MGS4, Splinter Cell 5, Too Human, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, just to name a few).

I have to disagree with you there gridlinked. From what I've seen of the game Killzones graphics are right up there with the titles you mentioned. We poured over the video here at the studio and aside from some small issues here and there Killzone looks just as good if not better than Splinter Cell 5 Too Human in particular. I like the way there pushing more poly's in areas most next games have forgone, everything looks very natural and crisp because of this. One other title that has to be mentioned that I feel looks better than almost everything on this list you have is Call of duty 4, hands down the best looking game of the show, it's so freaking polished its scary!:ack:

Well, we agree to disagree then, in the vid the particle effects were really crappy, and while the world has a lot of detail, you'll notice it's almost a closed box. I also found the textures to be of lower quality than, say, Crysis or UT3 or, like you pointed out, CoD4, no doubt because the PS3 can't handle as much as a top of the line PC. Mind you, KZ2 still has aways to go before it's released, i'm sure it'll be improved (the fx in particular).

I just don't get what's so important about this title, other than (together with FF13 and MGS4) trying to "save" the PS3. Because let's be realistic, KZ1 was a run-of-the-mill FPS, interesting visual direction, but pretty standard gameplay.
