Hey guys, I was able to bust out 3 busts this weekend. Personal Record for me. They got me doing tons of 2d concept stuff at work, so I got the 3d itch pretty bad. I'm not gonna say this officially, but I would like to get a new bust up here every weekend. We'll see :)

ZOOM ZOOM, nice work man! would like to see ya push these a tad farther (like the mobster comp :P ) But i know how it goes. Think the adam's apple throat area might could be a tad thicker and push those " stemocleidomastoid muscles (http://www.daanspanjersberg.nl/site/16632/spiergroepen/photo30.jpg) out and thicken.
Anywho, very cool man, glad to see ya pumpin more new stuff.... trying to push the rest of us around, I SEE!

One last thing, would you mind explaining your work flow for the hair on morpheus? Mostly on what it looks like before you start sculpting it.

Yeah, I'm gonna possibly redo the hair on the saint of killers tonight. I'll show how I do it. I figured some things out when working on morpheus's hair.

Thank you Josh, perhaps maybe make a "exclusive" GameArtisans tutorial on it? ;)

I'm a fan of the Deadpool one as well. Love the way you've transmitted the expression through the mask. I'm an old comic fan at heart... so yeah really loving all of it.

Nice stuff man!
Does the clothes of the sandman contain "inner" geometry? Cause I went into some clipping problems with that lately...?
Josh Singh
07-19-2007, 09:13 PM
Miguelito, no there is no inner geometry. I just made the dress from a polyplane.
though it would not be hard to give it inner geometry, all I would do is perform an extract on the mesh. It works kinda like the shell modifier in max, but a littermessy. luckliy things are easy to clean up in zed.
woo great new work from you! I really like how you can see deadpool's expression through his mask.
if you don't mind a crit re: morpheus.. his mid/lower back looks a bit thick. but the shapes there look soft in general, not as well defined as his chest, so perhaps that area isn't as finished yet.

Very nice busts. Can I just ask you how much time do you spend in max before going to ZB? Or do you use some basemesh, put it in ZB and make all the great stuff only in there?
I´m just curious, because I´m also working on some heads, but I usually spend some time in max, prepare my lowpoly basemesh, trying to get the main charts and then I go to ZB.
Thanks for answering, and keep posting stuff like that.

Awesome.:thumb: Especially Dead-Pool. Love how you went more towards Ed McGuiness feel (the cartoony fun type). Love it all man. It's good to practice. I need to myself.:brick:
the only thing that i see that bothers me is the sandman's chest, at the lower end, it's so split away from the rest of the torso without any transition. It looks like plates on top of the rib cage. It could be just me. I usually see that fold on thicker guys (fat or very very muscular) because they have bigger chests, but this guy is slim.

THE THREAD FROM THE DEAD!!
Some Zelda Fan art. Just playing around, I want to make the whole body for him if I have time.

Awesome! Love the style. Great texturing on the head. You not going super angry face like the pic? No idea about this guy, so just askin.
Also, your gif attachment isn't working.

Josh Singh

thanks Guys, Kite, it's poly paint.

Definetly cool - I like the recent one
What material are you using? Nice skin look with the mat and polypaint colors combo
Ever find yourself doing concepts in zbrush rather than on paper?
