Hey,

Here are two images I am working on for my course. I have used photo references and I'm trying to push the colours to create a strong vivid impression. I have also mildy attempted to go for an over exposed photo look with the lighting simply because I like the way it looks.

Please share with me how you think I can improve these pieces! :)

With thanks,

Dan

Haha, thought I recognized the name Bradgate Park, I'm also on the same course as you, Game art design at DMU, haha. I'm First year though :)

Really cool pictures, I like them because of the vivid and bright colors, though on the first one, the farground is almost as contrasted as the foreground... if that is the right way of saying it. Maybe try lowering the contrast in the farground, and see if it creates a better feeling of depth and distance.

Really nice work on the trees, I'm finding it so hard to sketch trees with a pencil at the moment, fucking canal! But I love the way you have used the different tones for the leaves, I'm very impressed and I think I'll try a bit of this next time I'm down there.

See you around I'm sure

Guy
