Hi everyone,

I have some problems and seams I can't find a solution by myself, so I would like to hear your opinions. Does anybody know a way to create this kind of effect for the hair pieces in 3d studio max (notice the yellow, blue, red glowing behind due to the hair substance absorbed by light)without the hair and fur and only alpha planes?

I tried many materials, specular, glowing, reflection etc

thank you for your time

I think that effect might be the result of the camera lens rather than the actual hair, so you could maybe photoshop it. A side note, chromatic abberation and vignetting seems to be in style at the moment, use filter->distort->lens correction and play around.

Indeed, chromatic aberration. It's caused by having a different refraction index for each wavelength of light. Thus, a lens "effect".
Photoshop's lens correction filter is indeed a good way to get this in your renders/textures.

If you want this realtime, a (post process) vert/frag shader is the way to go imho.

easiest way to do that without distorting your image too much is to nudge pixels in red, green or the blue channel in the area u want the aberration.
