What are Mini Challenges?
Both 3d and concept mini challenges will take place in one thread (1 x 3d thread, 1 x concept thread) The rules, the finals, and the w.i.ps will be kept in this single thread so that artists can simply focus on their work.
Do these small challenges count for points?
Yes. Each 1st place winner for 3d or concept art, gets 1 point. However, entering a mini challenge does not give an artist a gallery on gameartisans.
3d Mini Challenge:
3d Mini Challenges are 2 week comps that are purely texture based, or modeling based. Specs are always extremely low (around 1 x 256 sheet and 500 polies). Depending on the challenge, the model and uvs might already be supplied. Topics include, small vehicles, small characters, crates, a room etc...
Concept Mini Challenge:
Concept Mini Challenges are also 2 weeks long. They are sketch based comps where artists may not submit any final masterpieces. Sketches, loose drawings or loose paintings, are what we are looking for here.
