I wrote this up for the Blender-phobes (myself included) who have been wanting to take Blender's real-time texture viewing for a spin.

It's pretty basic and doesn't go into color ramps and using the node editor, but it's enough to get you up and running with a vanilla diffuse+spec+spec color+normal map setup.

this is really great! funny because i downloaded blender this week to try the realtime shading but went crazy with its unique style workflow.
this is a lot of help!

but i tried it and i cant get to make it working. im trying difuse, normal and spec. the mesh always seems to show the polys really well like if it didnt have smoothgroups.
ill play some more with it and see if i can get it working.

thanks anyway for the guide!
