Hi guys!

I think I didn't see any G.A thread about cool tutorials for both Cry and Unreal Engines, and I'm trying hard to learn by myself but I'm quite lost !
Do you guys have any cool tuts, showing how to import our mesh, our maps, create a cool render, etc... ?
Do you know where I can download the last versions of thoses engines ? Will I have to pay for that ? (I only have Unreal Engine II right now)

Thanks!

Vincent

Not sure about Crytec but I am an unreal fan, so I can help you out a bit there.

Official All Things Unreal Site
http://udn.epicgames.com Has an unreal engine 3 section, or rather sections for Gears and UT3.

As far as I know only way to get a copy of UE3 to mod is through Gears of War or UT3 for the PC.

Hourences had tones of reference material for Mapping in UED, as well as good general info.

Other info is scattered around the web and there are some helpful stickies on the Epic Unreal3 boards

I;ve been doing a bit of research on the Cry Engine and one of the best sources out there is crymod

http://crymod.com/portal.php

crymod has a lot to offer either it be tutorials or already made mods or answers to problems you've been having. You can get the Cry Engine 2 Sandbox with the Crysis game although it doesn't advertise it. It mainly works with 3D Studio Max and comes with a model exporter for it. The site also has links to the Cry Engine documentation and there is a wiki page. Also some Crytek employees come by and answer some questions about it.

Here's a video walk through for exporting models out of 3dsmax into the Crytek sandbox 2: http://www.wonderhowto.com/how-to/video/how-to-export-objects-from-3ds-max-into-the-game-crysis-196383/

UnrealEDIII comes with Unreal Tournament and RoboBlitz (And GoW for PC). If you get the collectors edition of UT, you will get hours of tutorials in the form of videos. (although the attempt at humor can wear thin...).
