The other day i was surfing the internet and came across this little app
ShaderMap Pro 1.2.1 http://www.renderingsystems.com/index.php
Its something like Crazybump only cheaper,
I thought i might be helpful to some people with not that big of a budget.
goodluck

Looks like I'll have to give this a try.
If only I didn't already have a Crazybump license. ;)

Nice find! Interesting, but I see some drawbacks...

Pro version is not free, the free version is run by command line and near featureless? If I was strapped for cash and in need, I might check it out further but for now Crazybump works great.

Same here, I already shell out the cash for CB. Although it's worth a try, thanks for posting!

yeah free version looks pointless but full version for only $20 is quite tempting, has anyone bought it? what do they think in comparison to crazybump?

Crazybump might be pricey but from a team perspective it's almost idiot proof.
When i have the time I'll check this out.
Thanks!

I tried the beta of crazybump and it was very useful. Haven't got a licience yet, so mite have a look at this instead, see how it fairs.

Xnormal is free, and yeilds almost the same results as crazy bump did, but when I used crazy bump I only used it for making normals. And now Xnormal can do just the same.

I use crazybump for normal map creation, and I also spit out a modified occlusion and diffuse map when i work on the diffuse maps.
I liked Xnormal cept it would give me texture seams in the projected normals.

@Ritorian

Ahh yeah i saw that Xnormal now also has that feature.
But i never did get it to work

Would you be so nice to make a simple 10 step tutorial or something( no need to go deep with the info)
it would be cool to just work in one App to get all my maps done

Thanks
