Dominance War question?

This is just a curious question but does anyone have any idea when they might have a new Dominance War challenge or any other challenge that involves crazy ass character design. I'm kinda bumed out because I missed the last one and really wanted to enter it. I never really new that these kinda contests were around and they just seem like alot of fun and I'd love to enter one. Or you know what would be kool, is an all female character competition by that I mean that you can only create female characters of some sort, for some reason I always seem to create some kinda male character. anyway, just a thought.

FredH is in charge of Dominance War. Only he can tell you if and when a DW4 might take place. However, given the April 12 deadline of Dominance War III, any potential Dominance War 4 is still months away. Since then, you've also missed the Comic Con Challenge and the Unearthly Challenge - two other sizable comps. You've really got to lurk a bit more. :)

As for what else is on the horizon... Again, only FredH can answer that one.

What I will say is that these things take quite a bit of coordination to get going. Between technical briefs, sponsorship, and promotion, no challenge of any noteworthy size can be put together overnight. Nobody knows for sure how many of these big challenges any one site can support. We've already had 3 this year - in addition to the numerous mini-challenges that go on nearly monthly. That's a lot of work.

If I were a betting man, I'd say that you'd probably have to wait for DomWar4 if you're looking for something truly epic. However, there's nothing there to stop you from entering one of the mini-challenges. They're mostly about bragging rights, but the topics tend to be quite fun. The current one, which closes in a couple of days, is a "Mud Monster" (http://gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=6186) sculpting challenge. Not neearly as ambitious as something like Dominance War, but a good diversion nevertheless.

Ya i was checkin out the Mud monster forum, looked like alot of fun, kool idea, I'm a bit too late for that one though, but again I'm gonna keep my eye open more for these mini challenges. But ya I can't wait for Dom War 4 if and when it happens. And the comic con one woulda been really fun. Oh well, there's always a next time.

yup, just as cookepuss said. I'll just add one thing, Dominance War usually starts in early February with a pre-announcement as early as December. This year, there might be something else 1-3 weeks before the main DWIV starts, but I can't say what it is yet:D

Hopefully, you didn't unsubscribe from GA's newsletters because they usually reveal what is on the near horizon:)

ah dw4... man im looking forward to that. would just like to say that dw3 was my biggest inspiration in, well, ever... rly wanted to join last year but didnt have the skills, but this year.... oh this year i wont have a life during dw4 XD do i need to say i cant wait? =)
