Hi, i quickly realised (after about 47 seconds and some crying) that the mouse and Z-brush do not go together well.

What would people recommend as a good graphics tablet to use? I am not looking for something that is going to be to expensive. The intuos 3 looked a bit pricey at 300 + pounds.

Thus, what do you guys use?

My Intuos3 wasn't that pricey at 220 pounds, but the 6x8 Bamboos play nice with Zbrush, or texture work in general. Even the build quality, balance, and weight of the pen's pretty nice, as well as the texture of the drawing surface. Good starter tablet. Don't look at anything else that isn't Wacom.

thanks for the info, with regards to Zbrush specifically (wouldn't use if for other 3d apps) what size would people recommend? i have used an a3 intuos (long story) and it felt like i had to have my arm in a sling arter prolonged use. a bit to big.

ive used a4, a5, and a6, and i must say that personally, i liked the a6 best, u get smoother lines with it, and if u want to do small details, just zoom in, i recently made the mistake of thinking slightly bigger is probably better and went for a a5 bamboo, and tbh, id rather have an a6 intuos...

Tablet size is such a personal thing, you have to sit down with some and try them out. Aren't there any showrooms around you where you can do that?

If you're constrained with budget, try getting a6 like Kageko suggest, If it's just for sculpting in Zbrush you don't really need big tablet with big stroke. I know it's a little bit pricey than other brand but believe me it's worth investing.

I just use a bamboo it does the job nice and very affordable, one of these days I'll spring for a larger tab, but for now I'm happy wit my bamboo.
