looks like the movie they should have made instead of the last one, hopefully the lead doesn't act like a wuss this time ;p

I guess I am the only skeptic...Nothing really makes it look that special to me, and Bale seems to be doing that crappy "deep raspy" voice in most of the trailer, hope it doesn't continue throughout the whole movie :P. It has potential but I doubt I will go see it in the theater.

Hmmm. I am a fan of the series, and even watch the tv show, but that was unimpressive. I am sure I will watch it, but I am very disappointed by that trailer. If i didnt know the series i would say it looked like a rip off of apocalypse now and road warrior. The large crappy robot at the end looked pretty bad.

And dont get me started on the cliched skull crushing treads! lol

Saw a different trailer for this a while back, and I'm hopelessly optimistic about it. I'm not the biggest terminator fan, but god, this looks good. Even if it's another one of those movie's where you have to check your brain at the door, I'm gonna see it.

And yeah, skull crushing treads... Don't know what to say about that one... But if that's the worst thing, I'll be happy. ;)

Can you cliche yourself? Isn't that some kind of paradox of the universe?
My main gripe is that this movie doesn't seem to take place at night. Terminator 3 did the same thing. Terminator battles always take place at night with a cool blue filter.

ps. 500th post...sweeeeet

ROFL - to true Modeling_Man!

I think this is the low quality we can now expect after the passing of the grand wizard - Stan Winston. He was the genius behind it all. With his death we get things like a crapy giant robot and dumb looking skull crunching. A great talent to be surely missed.

Happy 500!

This is a simple fact, you cant make a terminator movie with out skull crushing, if theres no skull crushing the terminator universe ceases to exist.

Predator vs Terminator would be the ultamite movie. You have the predators that try to preserve the skulls, then you have the terminators that like to crush zee skulls.

SeanW - that would be a fun mix. And once again another Stan Winston creation.

Dont get me wrong, they have every right to use the skull crunching, but it should look better than the past. Instead this entire trailer looks like a scifi channel movie! I keep looking for Lorenzo Lamas to appear.

Funny nobody mentions the super crappy giant robot. ;)

I know you keep mentioning this supper crappy giant robot but you don't say why it's crappy. I really didn't see a problem with it. The bikes, the treads, the crushed skulls... what part of it is not well done? Is it just your bias against Terminator movies since after T2? What would you have done better? I'm curious. This isn't a lashing out at you Codeman or anyone else here... if you read it that way, go back and reread it in a calmer tone. This is simply a conversational piece. I am not offended by any of your comments. I'm just not seeing any examples of why.

Dude look at it. It screams crappy. :) It looks like a 4th grade stop motion project. Do you think it is good?

The shot of the skulls crushing was laughable. Once again I refer you to the shot.

I love the terminator series, but this is just really poor. And of course this is personal opinion. By the way this is all meant to be a bit tongue in cheek, but it is a terrible trailer.

Cheers!

:P

I don't know, I like the giant robot. Yeah, it kinda reaks of transformer-itis, but is that really a bad thing? (Design wise, not story wise. Transformers as a movie stank)

I think the action looked great, the effects work looked great, the acting (Christian Bale, what's not to like?) looked great. Looks like my kind of movie. And I highly doubt they'll do any worse than terminator 3.

I don't have any major gripes about it. I watched it with the sound off and I agree that it does remove a bit of the quality. I don't know if I would call it amateurish but it's about what I would expect from Hollywood right now.

Is it laughable because the skulls are set up to be in a straight line? That it's staged?

The trailer alone was better then terminator 3.
