I'm in Olympia, and it's the same thing here. It was 9 degrees yesterday morning. Haven't gone anywhere in several days.
Saw some kids riding snowboards behind a car, that was pretty cool. Saw somebody slide into a ditch while trying to turn into our street. Again, pretty cool.
But cabin fever is starting to set in. I'm bored out of my mind. Having some pretty weird thoughts.
Well, at least the power's still on here. So it could be much worse.

I'm in Madison, Wisconsin and man it just doesn't seem to end here. i had to shovel a 3 1/2 foot wall of snow the wonderful city plows left at the end of my driveway.
I'm going on Vacation tonight but everywhere we are headed it is snowing so I'm sure some delays / cancellations are in order.

Cabin fever 2TM. We are supposed to get 2" more tonight....
We should do a snowday mini. Make something covered in snow. Prop, character whatever you want just has to have at least one flake of snow on it. Anybody game?

2 inches of snow? I live in Michigan, I don't even break out the snow blower if there is less than 6 inches.
In the past 2 days we have gotten about 16 inches with another 6-8 in the forecast for today. That is not even the "fun" part. The wind is blowing about 15-25 mph causing large drifts and wind chills dropping to -10 to -20. degrees (-23C to -29C for our euro friends) :brick:
Just a few photos from inside the house (like hell I'm going outside today)

2 inches of snow?
LOL. No complaints. Not 2" it will be about 14" total for a town that might get 1" every other year.
I remember the midwest having grown up in Chicago and Iowa. Thats one of the main reasons i moved up here. It is fun having a snow for a bit though. :)

Yep, I don't envy some of the other places getting pelted this past week, and into the next. I remember interviewing at Midway Chicago. The interview took place the day AFTER a huge blizzard hit. That was, and is, the coldest I have EVER been. Even with my snow jacket, gloves, insulated hoodie, and pants. Still, the best interview I've ever had, mad love to Midway Chicago, and everyone that works there.
The cabin fever is starting to settle in a bit deeper now. I'm starting to entertain thoughts of making snow angels by myself, hang out in trees, and blast passing pedestrians with snow balls, hide under the snow for a while, and pop up with fake guns, and fake shoot at real houses... Soooooo bored!

Man I love snow, get it so rarely in england its a nice thing especially when you get a mad year where you get 10" or more for a few days. but generally we get a light layer which is enough to go sledgeing one day before it goes...

Pfft!! When I see a good amount of snow, first thing I do is put on clothes, second is jump in the wagon and do this. We got like 10 inches here and it was fun:

I was in the northwest last year for my first winter, I chose to take a slightly more back road into work at Redmond as it was faster despite the fact it had snowed and would be going down hill. at some point I drove rather quickly, thinking "this aint to bad" the car started fishing out of control, the sliding only got worse cause of the fact i pressed on the breaks, I started drifting on both sides of the road, both scared sh*tless and laughing. I began heading towards a sign and ditch, but then regained control, luckily the road was pretty empty, but after that I drove a little slower then on when in snow.

We only got about 4" or so over here. Not bad really, unless you count the rain that popped in the next day. That managed to turn everything into either nasty slush or black ice. Nearly busted my Puerto Rican @$$ just crossing the street this afternoon. :p

I have a love hate relationship with snow.but I don't mind seeing a good dump of it once in a while. Makes me feel good that global warming hasn't prevented the snow to fall completely unless its doing the opposite and causing a new ice age. lol And warrior i know what u mean about cold winters I grew up in Estevan Saskatchewan if you know where that is.

you know, you would at least figure we would be used to this crappy ass weather every year, but NO! its un-bearable. my friend got frost bite on his hands just from being outside for a few minutes trying to clean his car which was covered in snow haha he had gloves on too!
but its not as bad as it was the last 2 week, -40 temperatures...ahh how i hate you winnipeg

Man i can only imagine how Seattle's local news must be eating this shit up.
They LOVE it when it snows...they always come up with some stupid name for it. My parents were going to fly out to visit too...cept Alaska Airlines totally f-d up and didn't buy enough de-icer (good job losers).
We got roughly 2 feet of snow, but out in Boston this is just par for the course really.
For Seattle anything over 1" is a disaster. That being said best of luck with it. My brother lives out in Duvall and hasn't left his house in over a week.

That's entirely true, about seattle, modeling_man. I live in the states capital, and yet, according to all the tv stations, you'd think the entirety of the state of Washington, consists of seattle. Our temperatures were lower, we got more snow, but seattle got all the attention. I'm used to it though, having lived here most of my life, and I do feel for the seattle residents, especially since that city has NO idea how to deal with snow. I can only imagine how many streets are left to be sanded/salted, or cleared of snow there.
I was finally able to leave my house yesterday, to go to Safeway for some food. The way there wasn't bad at all, but the parking lot was a freaking disaster. The foot and a half of snow was compacted so much, it was just this side of ice. Just about cracked my head open about three times just trying to get into the store. Then trying to push a shopping kart across was an adventure in itself.
Anyway, I know there's plenty of places that are colder, and have more snow than the western side of Washington state, but we get snow so rarely, the politicians, city planners, and the like, have no idea what to do when we actually do get it. So I do feel for all you folks with worse weather, but I got a softer spot for us in this state.

My mom told me too that Seattle refuses to use salt?! WTF?! I guess they think that it's too much a hazard to the environment so instead they are making a "snow pack" or something. So sad. Total noobs. However, I do miss seattle for sure (lived there all my life until I moved 5 years ago).
I miss all those awesome coffee shops:(
Boston has Dump and Dunks = WORST COFFEE EVAR.
