Congratulations to all the winners and thanks to everyone involved in organising the event. I'd also like to say what a positive experience this has been for me, the participants were all very helpful. Thank you I learned a lot! It's my first effort at anything like this so I'm pleased to have been voted 1st by 2 of the judges and 3rd by another one although I would be lying if I said that I am not a little gutted at being disqualified for the reasons stated . . . on to the next challenge I suppose. Well done everyone, some really nice work there!

Special congrats to the winners:praise: and hurray for everybody who finished:thumb: :thumb: :) Very exciting entries. The judges must have had a terrible time to choose the winners... Wow, Bram [Peris] Eulaers - Abondoned Colony won 1st prize and also the 38Studios Honorary Award , now he is the one to beat next year.....

Joe! Did you by any chance make produce the finalists page? The first two winners from each forum have blurbs from the winners of DWIII, not unearthly challenge.
Some fantastic entries all round.

Such an awesome experience! I feel like I just leveled up... hehe. Great job to everyone... I hope all of you treated yourself to something nice after the comp was over. And much like Vince (aka Joyal) thanked me, I also thank him. Though we had individual entries, I feel like we were still in the comp together.

Great work! Really inspiring winning entry that really shows how much can be done with only a few well-placed assets and nice atmosphere... Reminiscent of Bionic Commando too, for good reasons :)
2nd and especially 4th entrants fantastic, too. And way to go Sweden on number 5! Almost brings a patriotic tear to my usually dry eyes :)

Heyhey everyone, I put the abandoned colony map online, you'll need unreal editor 3 to check it out though!
Download the file here: http://www.brameulaers.com/filez/GEIDI_abandoned_colony.rar
warning: big download (90mb)! Just unrar the file to "My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Unpublished" in you windows documents folder. You should be able to open it, possible you first have to open the content package (GEIDI.upk) in the generic browser.
Have fun discovering how unfinished it really is and looking at my geometry gaps and lighting errors that are all over the place =)!

01-08-2009, 08:58 AM
Hah, not really.. just saying it would need more work and time if the parts i made would actually be used in a game =)!

Peris, you really are a true artist - never satisfied with the work you produced.:thumb: :)
