RSS feed

Seeing how my primary source of information online is dozens of RSS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS) feeds from dozens of sources online being pumped through my Google Reader (who's got time to surf individual websites anymore?), I feel somewhat compelled to request this vBulletin feature being activated :approve:

I checked up RSS in wikipedia.. and I still don't get it:brick: What does this do exactly?

From my understanding, you take summarized updates that consist of a desc, title, and link (like your homepage latest news and the forum highlight thread) from your site and put that info into a single XML file formated for RSS Readers. You provide a link to this file (RSS Feed) for people to add to their RSS Reader of choice.

It's the like the TV Guide Channel for the web. Instead of going to each and every website to see the updates, the Reader will gather all the updated info from the Feeds provided by the site that you added to the Reader and display them all in one place for you to link to directly.

Hiya, I'm new around here, but I take it the RSS features are still disabled? I'm mostly interested in following the job board, so if it looks like the mod's want to leave the built in RSS features disabled, I'll make a feed and post the link to it.

I have it sitting on my google homepage so that I can keep tabs on it everytime I fire up Firefox.

If you're still confused on how/why to use RSS feeds, here's a screen shot of my google homepage (It's loaded with personal info, but all of that's already available on me linkedin.com profile anyways...) It's 1600x1200 so I'm going to post a link rather than the image.

i would like to reiterate the need for the RSS feed be enabled. if you search for "RSS" in the FAQ section, it says v2.0 is standard in this version of vBulletin. apparently the switch just needs to be flipped.
