Job description and responsibilities:
Part Time Visual Game Programming and Game Art Design Instructors - Burnaby Campus

The Art Institute of Vancouver is looking for energetic, self-motivated, organized and proactive part time Visual Game Programming and Game Art Design instructors. If you are interested in making a positive and lasting contribution to our graduates and curriculum, please contact us.

Position Responsibilities:

With the academic director oversee the development of course curriculum and syllabi to ensure course content will facilitate exit outcomes for our students
Participate in quarterly program faculty meetings
Participate in Recording Arts and Digital film program faculty meetings
Adherence to attendance and grade reporting guidelines.
Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect or the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, cultural, disability, religious background and sexual orientation of community college students.
Provide student progress reports.


Qualifications Visual Game Programming

Prior teaching experience (higher education preferred)
4+ years game industry experience as a programmer.
Strong C++ and math skills.
Specialization in at least one of graphics, physics, artificial intelligence, networking, game mechanics.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related discipline, Masters preferred


Qualifications Game Art and Design

Prior teaching experience (higher education preferred)
4+ years game industry experience as a game designer, level designer, mission scripter, story writer, associate producer or other relevant position
Bachelor’s degree or related job experience in the games industry, Masters preferred
