Hey all,

First off, I just wanted to say 'Hi' and I'm impressed with the community here at GA.org. I look forward to looking at and posting alot of work here.

Anyway, down to business. Can anyone recommend some quality photoshop brushes? Im looking for brushes that can mimic the look/feel of watercolour/gouache/oil.

Anyone know of any off hand?

Thanks!

Hmmm... I posted but something went strange. I hope this doesn't turn into a double post. >.<

This isn't exactly a direct answer to your question, but may help out some. You stated mimic the "feel"... We just did a small project where the art style was not overly conducive to Photoshop, so a lot of it got done in ArtRage. It's dirt cheap and can bring some things to the table Photoshop can't. (Completely different type of program)

This is just a quick WIP of a background I was working on... I spent next to no time on this, but perhaps it can give you a feeling of the program.

There are some pretty jazzy brushes that come with Imagine FX mag from some of the best digi painters in the industry. I personally just culled all my brushes and I am using the chalk brush in Photoshop because of its thick to thin. The other brush that I like is just a huge blurred airbrush that I made. For me its easier on the brain with only 2-4 brushes.

i would say goof off in the brush editor and make your own. i find the best brushes are ones you make, then you know what its made for and its underlying settings. i have downloaded tons of peoples brushsets, but my tool presets are all just ones that i have made.

hope that helps a little
