thanks Fred:thumb: ok clean start good luck everyone

ok so here's some wips at the moment i'm just working on clothing for her,
i'll post some more clothing as i design it, i'm going for the more mature temari i think from what i've read she is around 18 now. so a bit more attitude and saucy clothes.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q287/shadowbreeze99/temari_comp/temari.jpg

TryForce

hmmm im very scepticul when people try to make out of anime something realistic, but whatever, its not tooo much you've got yet, although try to not make it to busy with her clothing as possibly covered all over her body, since She cant allow the sand getting into her cloth >_<

Maybe you dont know, but she lives in a Sandvillage, so it could be great if you would aim for such a cloth.

shadowbreeze
09-07-2007, 07:41 AM
TryForce - i guess they should not of given her this dress then

as for realism hmm we will see more the spirit of the character and you can't please everyone.:thumb:

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q287/shadowbreeze99/temari_comp/Temari-1.jpg

TryForce
09-07-2007, 08:01 AM
hmmm then you didnt really get me =P

As you see her whole upperbody is covered by her cloth.

Her lower body is actually covered by black "slips" , wich are tight on her skin.

On your design she wears a slip :) as her clothing looks not tight on her at all.(except in the middle of her body)

hope it cleared up my position hehe

shadowbreeze
09-07-2007, 08:13 AM
hmm so there black slip's like stockings??? and not lace or fish net? and another question what time period is this set in as i've read things about velcro and i've noticed flack style jackets???? so would shorts be an in thing??

sorry i have watched some episodes but none with temari in it and it's not on any tv stations here, so i'm just reading what ever i can find.

TryForce
09-07-2007, 08:26 AM
uhm,ok The thing you are talking about is abit different:
Those Flack Style Jackets, with Velcro stuffs are for More expieried ninjas. Who have more knowledge then the ninjas who have just passed the academy and the first tournament.
Tamari is not one of those. She isnt allowed to wear the same Flack Style jacket as her teachers do. Although even if, she can wear anything she likes, even if it looks alike.

There is no real Time-Period in the anime exepct a time befor 2 years and after 2 years or childhood. The one you've got is 2 years befor she got grown up. Having her wearing Shorts is completly fine, all i just said that make her clothing more covering and abit tighter on her skin.

Now back to the slips:
http://www.sportler.com/presentation/image/product/black_bear/hotpants_top/_mid_black_bear_hotpants_top_1280475_15674.jpg

This, sadly men-version, is what she actually wears behind the shorts.

please keep ask if you still got questions, maybe im explaining it wrong for now.

For the sake of my gramma problems i hope this refrence will help you out alot more:

Her clothes seem very baggy at the moment - sorta weightless, like she's in water. I think they need gravity and wrinkles. You've made a quick start - I'd like to see the model sans clothes to check proportions etc. Something feels a little off about the body but I can't really see what's happening.

Eclipse
09-07-2007, 05:32 PM
The model is coming along well, definitely take the shoulders down some as they are very high on her atm. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the clothes.

Marcus Dublin
09-07-2007, 06:20 PM
Would you mind posting a closeup of her head, something about it feels a bit off to me, I'm not sure if it's the angle but the shape doesn't feel right. I also agree with the cloth but it's very early and can be adjusted with time. I think this models main focus will be the cloth and I wish you luck on it since cloth can be a pain in the ass. Good luck!;)

shadowbreeze
09-07-2007, 07:01 PM
te he i can see there a lot of Naruto fans in this comp and watching this comp so it will be a tricky one to please the masses lol as long as the hate mail does not start up this will be sooo much fun:lol:

TryForce - no explained very well, re thinking clothing, but keep in mind i'm not going for the younger version, i'm going to make her clothing more sand friendly:thumb:

monkeyboy - yeah the clothes are baggy i was designing them around a air type theme as here attacks are air/wind based, as for the body it's portioned correctly, but my post does make it look odd, next time i'll do front and side on.

Eclipse - hmm i'll check the shoulders and see what can be done.

Marcus Dublin - the head is of it's to small and the right eye collapsed when i started to sub divided very strange never had that happen before:uhh:

but i'll do a close up when i actually start sculpting the head for real and only if you say something the last time you asked for my texture sheet for the robot and did not say anything:cry: was it that bad.:D

yeah this clothing is only the first wip i have other designs on the go, and believe it or not i actually do some freelance for cloths designers, so yeah cloths can be tricky, thanks i think i'll need the luck to keep fans happy ish.

Marcus Dublin

shadowbreeze: the head is of it's to small and the right eye collapsed when i started to sub divided very strange never had that happen before but i'll do a close up when i actually start sculpting the head for real and only if you say something "the last time you asked for my texture sheet for the robot and did not say anything was it that bad."

Marcus: Eek:eek:, hehe, I'll make sure that doesn't happen again, I must have missed it. Anyway cloth is truly a pain but since you have experience handling it things should be a bit smoother for you in the long run. It's admittedly one of my weaknesses and I try to work on it as much as possible.:)

shadowbreeze
09-07-2007, 07:30 PM
Marcus Dublin - no worries it's all ways fun and games and you are a very busy person:thumb: , yeah clothes for designers are easy but for games this will be interesting, my weakness is belts for some reason the middle area of models always frustrate me.

eraQ
09-07-2007, 09:21 PM
Also if you go to the Shippuuden episodes where she is older, you can see what she looks like in there! http://www.tv-links.co.uk/listings/3/211

shadowbreeze
09-07-2007, 10:43 PM
eraQ - thanks a lot but i keep getting connection not found???

but is it episode 19 of Shippuuden? if you could let me know then i'll see if some friends of mine have it they are big anime fans and yes when i tell them i'll get a good dose of threats from them:lol:

yo shadow, whats good in your hood.

So, I think your moving too fast, slow down so I can catch up with you.

But really, its ok to redesing the girl, but try not to loose her additude and sexyness, if a 15 year old girl can have it. Just type in her name, any search engine with the parental filter off, you will see that a few people think she is old enough to do somethings:inocent: .

Remember, this is your model, if you want her in baggy overalls, go for it. I got your back.:thumb:

shadowbreeze
09-08-2007, 07:03 PM
BiG ToE yo yo my boat is floating and my piece is locked and cocked??????

thanks and your right i've had some time to chill and think and i just can't do it I'm going to do what i do and now Temari is going to be older and slightly bitter and darker after years of constant fighting trials and putting up with her brother,
she has changed.

I'm calling her Temari The shattered Wind, the fan is going to reflect more a demond wind style and her clothes will have some pattern designs on it too, the hair style will be the same as that is a very distinctive feature.

thanks for having my back reality back in place:D  :thumb:

shadowbreeze
09-10-2007, 12:24 AM
ok so with all these real cool concepts going around, it has really inspired me to start doing some art again i'm a bit rusty since turning towards 3d but here's one
of my idea's . There is alot i could refine but it gets the idea across.

shadowbreeze Wow! Looking cool, man

shadowbreeze
09-10-2007, 08:50 AM
Inpw - thanks a lot:D

starting to add a bit of color to it, but this will do i know where i'm going with this now.

BiG ToE
09-10-2007, 11:22 AM
I'm a BIG fan of mesh, so if you cover her body in it, with a few(all of it) areas that are see threw, then you got yourself a winner in my book.

renderdevil
09-10-2007, 11:44 AM
did you start from hi-res model? are you sure?

shadowbreeze
09-10-2007, 05:33 PM
BiG ToE - thanks, yeah that was part of the plan:thumb:

renderdevil - No 4 years of illustration school, 4 years of fine arts Uni and quiet a few years of real work in the arts oils, water colors ect adaption to digital is not that hard. yes i'm a bit alder than people might think, but not that old:lol:

shadowbreeze
09-13-2007, 02:51 AM
ok so here's my concept, there are a few screwy things with it but i'll ajust as i start modeling, and yes it's made in Painter and photo shop no high res stuff:uhh: initial study water colors the old fashion way.

shadowbreeze
09-16-2007, 10:25 PM
all most ready to take it into Z Brush and then the fun will begin...........mary had a little lamb............strange mood.:D

Marcus Dublin
09-16-2007, 10:30 PM
I guess my only crit is the front loincloth fabric feels unnatural almost as if there were invisible pins holding it up. Of course this is a WIP and things like that can be adjusted along the way. Other than that she's looking good and I'll keep and eye out for any updates.:)

dkvdeeto
09-16-2007, 11:02 PM
just my opinion......but i think the neck is too long and the shoulders are too wide..... :p

shadowbreeze
09-17-2007, 12:16 AM
Marcus Dublin - yeah i was 50/50 about having the loincloth so it has gone. thanks:thumb:

dkvdeeto - hmm maybe i have been staring at the ladies at the gym for to long:eek: i take a look at my ref sheets.

aobond
09-17-2007, 12:32 AM
woah, awesome, really like that small detail
it looks great, and you said still no zbrush involved? wicked!
great job sir

shadowbreeze
09-18-2007, 09:28 AM
aobond - thanks for the compliment, :D yeah i thought i would do most of this in max alone and only finish up in z brush as i was feeling i was getting to dependent on Z brush and losing out on what i could actually do in max. hhmm just call me quirky:eek:

lone wolf
09-18-2007, 10:37 AM
AWESOME ! did you use projection map on the lowpoly then ? Nice Job there, my only crit is the body seems to be "muscled" a little, especially in the arms and hips (not too sexy maybe ? ...^_^), since she's grown up a little.. despite of that, THUMBS UP Man !

shadowbreeze
09-19-2007, 12:26 AM
lone wolf - hey thanks alot:D , no this is still the highpoly and i still have to re ajust the low poly and un wrap.....yeah what can i say i love athletic ladies or ladies with curves not bean poles:eek: when i take it into Z brush i'll play around a bit and see what happens.

ok so here's a bit more i think it's time for some z brush fun max is starting to not play fair.

damagecontrol
09-19-2007, 12:49 AM
good grief! This things gonna look crazy cool.

So can I assume you start on a high poly before the low poly? If so, what's the benefit for you to do it this way?

Sorry for sounding all 20/20 on you but I was just curious to hear this point of view workflow-wise.

Keep up the awesome work!

dudidam
09-19-2007, 02:03 AM
hwaaa dude!! i admire your detail and you get it with max!
:thumb:

miezis
09-19-2007, 05:20 AM
jeez... man, those tiny details are cool! im just wonderning weather you'll be able to bake them into normal maps? if you manage - tell me how! :)

Yung
09-19-2007, 07:20 AM
Woah! And those are still in 3d max? My god you are good in modeling! Very inspiring. Now I gotta be even more busy. Damn...

bokkie
09-19-2007, 09:54 AM
Sweet stuff, I really like where you are taking the model and design!
Keep it up :)

Nice Detail !!:)

shadowbreeze
09-26-2007, 08:55 AM
damagecontrol - yeah i started on the high poly first and the benefit, well to be honest i'll find out at the end i usually use theses comps to try out different techniques i have seen or heard about andi have been wanting to use z brush's retypo ability for awhile now:D, but from what i have seen it can give you a tighter and closer low poly for normal mapping, but i'm sure there is a lot of for and against for it. sorry for not been able to give you a direct answer.

dudidam- thanks it's something i like to get back to once in a while, of course then max crashes and i remember why i don't do it all the time

miezis - yep if it all works out i'll let you know how:thumb:

Yung - yeah max all the way so far, and thank you.

bokkie - thanks i'm liking the way it's going to well so far:eek:

RanZ Cross- thank you:thumb:

ok so i have been quite for a while, but the obvious happened for max user's yep it's started to crash so off to Z brush i went:D

her's a test of some normal mapping and texturing, there is still soooo much to do and i have noticed the eye sockets look odd from this angle, so i'll posta front on next time.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q287/shadowbreeze99/Tem_text.jpg

Chasarsis
09-26-2007, 08:31 PM
I'm kinda worried about the tiny details you have too. We only have a 1024 to work with, so they might not show up well enough for it to matter.
Its definitely awesome though, I'm really liking the amount of intricacy you put forth into your work.

Marcus Dublin
09-26-2007, 09:57 PM
Nice update shadowbreeze, the only suggestion I have is to be aware of the tattoo overlay. When you get around to polishing up the texture make sure that you fade the tattoo in and out in certain areas, also I would play with the tattoo color variation as well. Check out the image below to see what I mean about the tattoo opacity variation, you can see that on her skin there's certain areas that are starting to fade out. The tattoo is a cool addition but can be distracting if not handle properly. Anyway keep up the solid work and I'll be on the lookout for your next update!:)

shadowbreeze
10-06-2007, 07:47 PM
Chasarsis - thanks yeah it seems i do this every comp, but this time i have a couple of new tricks i'm going to try:D lets hope they work out.

Marcus Dublin - wow she is one scary old lady:lol: i will pay attention to what you have said and see what i can do and thanks for the cool ref.:thumb:

so heres a small update i have the base textures down, the boots and rings are still the high poly just to give a over all look of temari.

BiG ToE

nightwoodwolf
10-06-2007, 08:09 PM
very very nice ... i like how this project is building up

Yung
10-07-2007, 05:16 AM
Gothic lolita? Haha. Anyway your work is reall impressive! Just that the color choice kinda dialed down your details. Hopefully the textures can bring out more :D Great work

shadowbreeze
10-12-2007, 05:12 PM
BiG ToE - yeah no worries:thumb: and no keep your hands off my vegemite.

nightwoodwolf - thank you very much, i'm more than pleased with the way this ones turning out considering i've use different techniques this time around.

Yung- thank you, yeah i'm taking my time and i'm going to do several color variations now theres an extension and see which one stands out the most.

ok so here's a small update i still have not painted in high lights and shadows yet and there's still some detailing to put in but this is Nmapped and i'm pleased to say alot of the finer detail held:D . the hair sucks but i'll work on that later.

shadowbreeze
10-12-2007, 06:05 PM
ghost-d - thanks, hmmm lol,i'll have to take a look at some pics of her, strange very strange:thumb:

ok forgot to show the back, so well here's the back view:lol:

Marcus Dublin
10-12-2007, 07:13 PM
This is looking very good shadowbreeze and it's some of your best work to date. The one thing that's holding it back is the hair sticking out the back of her head. There looking like wooden sticks at the moment, even with some of the best texture work it would be hard to make them look convincing. One suggestion would be to add to the design, you can add some cloth wraps on it. Maybe start it in the middle and have it come all the way to the end, anything to break up the solid hair look. Another suggestion would be to just shorten them up a bit to make them look a little more organic. Other than that she's looking pretty solid, good luck!:thumb:

TryForce
10-13-2007, 01:03 AM
The one thing that's holding it back is the hair sticking out the back of her head. There looking like wooden sticks at the moment

seconded, everything else just looks fine! keep it up!

Yung
10-13-2007, 05:23 PM
Where's her big and dangerous fan? :D
Nice work so far fellow, but something about her face looked funny. But I think its nothing major

shadowbreeze
10-13-2007, 07:56 PM
thanks for the comments and yeah i'm in total agreement the hair SUCKS big time, i will redo it starting now.:thumb:

oh and the fan is almost done but i'm holding it back for the moment.:D

yung the face is a little off in these views, because for some reason my weights on the skin mod seem to have a mind of there own even when there locked, so i'm going to re skin her later.

ALW-DaSilva
10-14-2007, 05:24 AM
wew so sexy,, just a little bit tweek the hair....its kinda like ponny tails...but the overall awsome man.....

shadowbreeze
10-14-2007, 11:04 PM
ALW-DaSilva -thanks alot, yeah there meant to be pony tails, but they kind of went screwy, now i'm considering not having them at all.

so here's some colour variations and a pose i'm considering.:D

Antimagic
10-15-2007, 12:59 AM
man, you have a really steampunk dirty'ish looking style. It's really cool to see. Tamari is looking really good so far, but like yung said, where's the fan? I am really looking forward to seeing her fan together with a pose:D

shadowbreeze
10-16-2007, 12:32 AM
Antimagic - thanks alot, yeah i just like grungy/dirty styles i think it stems from my oil paintings:D and i find it suits me.

ok so here's one of the fans i made and i think it's the one i'll use i know it's not as big or heavy as the original.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q287/shadowbreeze99/fan.jpg

BiG ToE
10-16-2007, 12:38 AM
this fan looks good, but what am I comparing it too?
hint, hint. Please, can I see the oter fan(s)? Please, wit sugar on top.

shadowbreeze
10-16-2007, 12:41 AM
BiG ToE - ok ok i'll post them later, but to be honest this one is the only one that does not break the budget:D :D

ThatDon
10-16-2007, 08:38 PM
I wanna see a huge mammoth sized fan.

shadowbreeze
10-16-2007, 11:48 PM
ok so here is the other design i was playing around with, but it is still in the rough stage, i don't think i'll go any further as i would like to give it more tri's and i don't have any left:lol:

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q287/shadowbreeze99/temari_comp/fan2.jpg

ThatDon
10-17-2007, 02:08 AM
make it bigger!

FredH
10-17-2007, 11:17 AM
yeah, I think it's too small now. Would be cool if it was bigger. Also, for her pose, something where she is looking right at us would be much more powerful I think. Besides that, she is looking really good. Can't wait to see how you will pose and present her.

TryForce
10-17-2007, 11:29 AM
i would suggest you a pose where she stands wit her back to us, and the fan holding in her right hand. Her head turned around so we see her right part of the face and the Fan wide open looking to the left bottom corner. I think this would give a good mood and fix the Smallness in the pics :D .

even though it looks great. I like what you did to her hair now ^^ just removed it :P

shadowbreeze
10-17-2007, 09:19 PM
ThatDon - yes SIR!!!:thumb:

FredH- yes SIR!!!:D, yeah i'm going to try changing the angle and giving her a more looking forward feel, this is mainly where i take tooo long (posing) just get to many idea's so i hope this new angle works:D

TryForce - that is great idea and i'll use that for a wallpaper:thumb:

"even though it looks great. I like what you did to her hair now ^^ just removed it :P"

:D yeah keep it simple and remove the problem, of course this can be only done with these comps.

so here's where i'm headed.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q287/shadowbreeze99/temari_comp/fan3.jpg

Ged
10-18-2007, 04:05 AM
really good, especially like all the work on the clothes. the facial expression is a bit strange. It almost looks like she just realised shes done something wrong. a more determined look might help?

3dimentia
10-18-2007, 06:01 PM
She looks entirely too stiff. Soften her up a bit. The lighting here needs some work and help fix the problem I'm talkin about. The skin is VERY shiny. Lessen that a bit.

The face texture also looks a bit off and the hair is making it look even flatter. I have faith though!!!

shadowbreeze
10-18-2007, 06:02 PM
Ged - thnaks alot, i was going for the oh sh@t where did you come from pose.
but i'll give the determined look ago, if it looks to off.:D

Yung
10-19-2007, 08:42 AM
Woah nice one shadowbreeze! The fan definitely looks nice but I think your model seems to lack the naruto famed ninja metal band thingy, or maybe its at her back? Otherwise great job man

Defeat
10-19-2007, 08:50 AM
The style of this realy reminds me of resident evil 4. Looks good but with the fan being so big it looks kinda blurry. just my peice of cake.

BiG ToE
10-19-2007, 10:21 AM
objects in the background, like the fan, should be out of focus/blurry. Makes it look realer, if thats a real word. If not, I'm headed over to wikipiedia to add it to the english language.

typhus22
10-19-2007, 11:35 AM
wow she loosk really good, what happened to her pony tails? also her face looks surprised. are u going to change her expression?

shadowbreeze
10-19-2007, 05:56 PM
3dimentia - wow you post at the time i was typing. very good points i'm working on them thanks:thumb:

Yung - oh noooo your right her metal band is missing Sh@t i'll fix that straight away,:o :o

Defeat - yeah big toe explained it and thanks :thumb:

BiG ToE - :thumb:

typhus22 - thanks alot, her pony tails fell out due to the stress of living with her brother for too long:eek: as for the face i'm still 50/50.

so heres a bit more.

shadowbreeze
10-20-2007, 03:28 AM
ThatDon - thanks a lot, yeah i know it's strange she is correct, but i think it's the angle or the leg positions. i'll try to get a better angle as i want to use this as part of my beauty shots.:thumb:

The new lighting set up totally works, and I can read everything much clearer now. This has been a fun thread to follow and I’m looking forward to your final renders.:)

not sure if you modeled the fan so that it can fold up, but if you did, it would be cool to see it folded up and slammed part way into the ground with one of her hands resting ever so gently on top.

Doesn't need to be for the contest, I'm just saying, if you get time, it could be nice to see.

Marcus Dublin - thanks, i'm slowly getting there with the lighting, but it's no where near what i want, but hey, let the game engines sort that out:eek: fun but i'm a serious person no really i am well sometimes:lol: and as for my final renders well life is a box of chocolates.

BiG ToE- unfortunately it is just a plane, but afterwards i'll do it, sounds like a good pose:thumb:

MoP - Thank you very much appreciated.

Amethyst - thanks and it's good to here that the feminine feel came out as she is not the usual stick girl figure:s
