This is amazing. Looks a whole lot more interesting with the hood up, though -- maybe play with the head, a bit, to make him a little less boring when it's down?

Thanks Guys! yeah I do plan on modeling him.
It's been a while since I finished a big comp, Thanks for the encouragement.
as for the head without the hood on, I know right now it's kind of boring, but I don't really want to give him crazy spikey hair or anything. He will have wolfish eyes though and slightly pointer that normal Incisors.
I like the design i have going for akamaru, but I might explore a bit more, or maybe not. You never know, some new idea might come to me as I texture. But I like what I got so far. Im excited to color this. I might do one more view to make the model sheet eligible for the concept section.

Dang Josh! I was thinking about taking Kiba myself because it would be cool to do him and Akamaru, but I never would have touched how awesome this piece looks. You always have a really nice flair to your drawings and the models and skins just follow up amazing. I can't wait to see the final on this guy, I really hope you make it, this has got to be one of my 3 favorite entries so far, really great stuff.

Really sweet concept man! From all the ones I've seen in 3d and concept this is really unique in that it completely changes the feel of the character, but you still know exactly who they are. Excellent job, and I can't wait to see it modeled and textured. I'm a fan of your work,e specially the Ork-Tauren guy you did for the Blizz comp.

One crit that I do have is on Akamaru. His back legs are far too bent in comparison to a real dog's. Style is part of it perhaps, but it just throws off the body balance in my opinion, and breaks up the slope of the back too much.

I wanna see a but more color overall, personally. More yellowish highlights on the jacket, maybe, and more blues and greens in the fur?

Dunno, the desaturated look it kinda has now is cool too.

Very nice coloring man, i really like how it turned out. My only suggestion would be to try an fishnet on his torso, see how it looks, could be cool :P. Here is an image of what he looks like under his coat in the anime.

Thanks guys. Yeah, Fred it's just a wonky drawing. I'll get back to the concept later, I just wanted to get the basics on paper. I want to get this guy into 3d.

concept's looking good josh, stylish as always. i like what the hood's doing for the silhouette, but looking at it logically there's no way it should be able to hold itself up like that. just nitpicking, nothing an airborne final pose shouldn't be able to fix. now make him 3D!

Looking great! Akamaru makes me smile every time i see him.
Personally, i liked the first concept better. it seemed more fitting of the character. Both could be good, and i look forward to seeing them in 3d. though if you stick with the second version, might think of bringing in the oppie ears maybe make them more wolf like.

off course I am! I mean it all looks way to, "look at my puppy eyes!"
He has these rough clothes, and spiked leather arm cuffs and then a face that does not match the character nor the rest of the body.

I think the contrast between his aggressive clothes and his "cute" face is interesting, and I, too, am looking forward to the 3d!
