Hey guys :) It's :o embarasing to say but I've never seen this show...here what I found on Anko:

Double Snake Assassination (Souja sousai no jutsu)

Anko was born and raised in Konoha. As an apprentice of Orochimaru, she has learned various jutsu, some of them even forbidden (kinjutsu). When she was a kid she must've been extremely talented, because just like Sasuke, Orochimaru gave her the cursed seal. When Orochimaru betrayed Konoha and fled from the village, Anko was furious because she was used by Orochimaru and then casted off like trash.

When Orochimaru appears back in Konoha, for the first time since he left the village, during the 2nd chuinin exam in the Forest of Death. She feels that it's her job as a former subordinate from Orochimaru to kill him, even at the cost of her own life. Of course, she can't defeat Orochimaru and even regrets coming back alive from the Forest of Death.

I'm not sure if understood right her personality, anyway here my first sketch
I'm going to change her weaponry and total look on each sketch, this time she use no weaponry, just her body :)

I dont remember her beeing a apprentice Orochimaru's . she got the cursed seal from Orochimaru. Maybe im wrong since this character doesnt intresst me alot.


Well tbh it doesnt ressemble her in anyway. Long hair.. jeans... no coat.

your still is cool, though maybe try to redraw her like she is first, then redesigning.

keep it up, i believe it will be Kljowa =D


BTW she loves to do Crazy Shows and beeing Freakn Seriuos and important. From the side it looks just funny. =)

tryforce, I guess you must have skipped a lot of episodes, because yes, Anko was Orochimaru's pupil. There were a series of episodes where she went back to the lab she was raised in, and she found two new hybrid fish soldiers ... etc. Anways, it was one of those filler episodes, so I can understand why you skipped it.

Alex, your line drawings are looking at good as always, but, I have to agree with tryforce a bit. She is a great looking character, but she might need a little something to tie her into her original character in the series. Maybe this can be done by putting her hair over her headband, and giving her a jacket of some kind. Regardless, it's a very good start. Looking forward to a few more explorations:)

I finally found all Naruto's episodes (it always nice to have friend who a big fan of anime). They are on Japanese with english and russian subtitles, a bit hard to read and watch same time...but I like it

Now you can count me as Naruto's fan too :p

I really like that... as a drawing! I haven't a clue who she is or what she does.
But eh yep... nice line quality... i dont know it looks like your more comfortable drawing this character then the character you done in the previous comp. The proportions are way nicer... i think in anyway! deadly stuff!

Nice stuffs here. Explore a different side of Anko here. How about putting some snake related jutsu? Since she was a student of Orichimaru and you cant go wrong with women and snakes. :)

Oh yeah, who doesn't wanna be a ninja. With Kage Bushin No Jutsu, anyone can super multitask!

I have to admit, this style you chose to create your naruto character, they really look like the type of fashion designs seen in magazines, or on fashion runways. They are really impressive. However, like scorn mentioned, something with snakes would be great. Tattoos perhaps? Also, bare in mind that all naruto characters are ninjas. The latest image has her legs and arms rapped up like a ninja, but the high heels makes it hard to imagine her jumping on trees.

Each concept is getting better and better. Waiting for more:)

Hmm.. maybe Chrristian Dior and Versace will hire me :D

Now that you have finally seen her in the show, it will be interesting to see your next concept:) Like Imperialism suggested, something more ninja like could be cool. The second concept touched this, but I think you can do a lot more. Looking forward to an update:thumb:

hey the last 2 show some good designs and are a bit neater than the other concepts, the poses and anatomy seem a bit wierd. I think the poses are a bit flyswatted( trying to show all the body at once? ). Things in anatomy to watch for: usually peoples albows are near their belly button when their arms are relaxed. Also just go through and check that the limbs are the same length and the joints are at the same places, this can be tough when characters arms/ legs are in completely different poses from eachother.

I really like the upper part of your latest sketch, however, I still think you can make the resemblance to matarashi much stronger. You eliminated 3 trade mark items that she possesses; her head band, her coat, and her face/hair. If someone did not see your initial thumbnail and the name of your thread, it would be impossible to know you were recreating matarashi. BUT, you have managed really well to create some really wonderful costume designs:) At this point, I think you can easily take a few of your favorites costume pieces and squeeze them together to make one final design. At the same time, maybe there are some good references of matarashi out there that you can take and use little trademark matara items that can help tie your new concepts with matara much more easily.

These are some really good sketches here. I am sure with just a few more minor tweaks, you will come out with something great! And something that instantly says, "Yup, she is Matarashi alright":thumb: Looking forward to seeing what you come up with:)

I have to agree with FredH, these concepts are really good, but you need to bring back Mitarashi Anko somehow. Bringing back the items that make her who she is, is a start. Good Luck:)

:lol: this is soo cool to see. As always, you went the extra mile and made a little scene. This takes place in the forest of death (i think it was called) where they conducted their chunin exams right? Very nice!

I also see that you changed her suit again. I think this one is your best design. She looks a lot more ninja'y with her double belt, sword sheaths on her back and her simple ninja like boots. Well done. I think if colored right, this will be your best artwork or series of art pieces yet. Better then your extreme make overs and better than your fairy:) However, careful with her right hand that is holding the non-swinging sword. It's currently so small that it's barely visible. In photoshop, you might need to blow it up a lot more. Also, for the top right eyes only shot, perhaps if you exagerated her looking to the left more, it would be more legible. I think you just need to move the pupils even farther to the left so that we see almost 70% of empty white. Aside from this, everything else is looking really good! Keep up the good work!

Yep its forest of death, it was first time when I saw Anko, now I'm on 130th episode and she didnt appear yet.
Seems I chose very unpopular character, so anyway
I've been thinking about just inking job for the final piece - as regular manga comic does. Thanks to Fred we have more time now :) and probably I will color this illustration.

Great Idea to do a comic page. The only thing I find strange is the man standing in the distant back. His pose is extremely stiff. Arms straight out to his side, legs straight with an unexplained space in between and a straight towards us pose. If you brought his legs together and lowered his shoulders, this could possibly give him a more relaxed look.

Nice work otherwise! Can't wait to see some colors!

Yeah probably distance between legs is too big, and shoulder kinda..ok will be corrected.

Thanks 3d_er :) Actually I posted it yesterday, but yes I'm thinking to model her, one thing which is stopping me that I already have 4 girls in my portfolio, and probably next my character will be man warrior, pirate or some creature, monster.
I realy like pirate idea for next big competition, so we'll see what Fred prepared for us :lucky:

HI! Color update. I noticed that Brian and Marco and other professional artists do grayscale picture first, and only then colors.
I think thats why they have so good colors, so I did too :inocent: , probably my result not so impressive..anyway I tried :phew:
I overlayed blue color to simulate night time, I'm not sure to go with colors or just with this night version. What you think guys?

Looks like you are almost there alexisys... keep up the good work! creating everything in black and white is a good way to go. Now you will have to either play around with a lot of selections, or play with layers set to overlay or color. I guess this image will be your first test for your future generation of images. Hope it turns out ok. Good Luck. Clock is ticking:D (no pressure)
