I'm looking to record some audio and video of my desk top. Wondering if any one can recommend a good program for doing this on a pc (vista 64).

camtasia. or if you want to go free: freez video capture
camstudio is pretty much the same as camtasia recorder :)
I use debut video capture, it can capture from the screen or a webcam.

The latest camtasia is damn nice. the price of that thing is f'd up though.
I was kinda shocked. its like 300$.. but the trial is awesome. You can easily record a region or full screen and then afterwards it has presets for video quality like YouTube or HD etc...
If what your showing is sort of artistic though then i reccomend playing with the HD defaults. Its default setup is kinda washed out looking. I changed things around to a different format (MOV i think).
if your just doing more informative stuff then its got awesome presets for small videos.
Cheaper Alternative is like CamLite i think its called.. by Innoheim (i think is the name). That one works good. i've used it.
