Woooo

my first game is now out, Empire:Total War, Been working on this for nearly 2 years and 8 months so really excited to get it out the door.

It's scoring really well in review so far metacritic-empiretotalwar
(http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/pc/empiretotalwar)

For those not big PC gamers or stratergy fans, the total war series is a massive sandboxy/historical game, where you have a turnbased campaign map, which you move your armies around around on and build up economy/diplomatic relations etc, and then you have real time land battles or sea engagements to fight out.

Hope everyone who gets this enjoys it :)

Hey guys thanks, its been a really great project to work on.

Mr_ace, I was involved in the campaign map mostly for the entire project, and did little bits with land battles terrain and one of the town plans, as the need required..

Seven and mr_ace, Its a really good game, (obviously I would say this :P) we've had a few issues with Steam which has taken the edge off the release (i.e our metacritic user review is lower than expected cause people seem to be marking the game down simple because of steam), but the vast majority seem to be enjoying it and we're still working our butts off to make sure we patch asap,(one of the major pluses of steam is incrimental patching) any major issues anyone finds (this is one massive game so we knew there'd always be teething problems). I went home last night and installed it at home, and all is great (but my home pc is a beast :P for a graphics whore like me)

If you guys do get it, let me know what you think :)

this thing is £40 on steam! Thats the highest price I've seen for any single game on steam :p

Its so messed up, you can buy it from gameplay for £25: http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/productpage.asp?productcode=RM03380&title=empire:_total_war

Whats up with that :/

Anyway I saw the trailer for this too and some images, it looks really pretty for sure. I'm a big fan of medieval type combat and really like age of empires so I tried the previous total war games and none of them interested me at all :(

But big grats on first published title!

The steam price had alot of Devs confused, we thought that was a preorder mistake but seems thats the pricepoint sega went with. Im sure steam will catch up on missed sales when it does future special weekends and stuff. I love steam but I still buy bigger games via disk cause of my rubbish internet....

TW is a fairly aquired taste, it's a great stratergy series but it won't interest all gamers. But then I don't like metal gear whilst all my mates love it so each to their own :P and as an artist glad you thought it looked pretty ;)

It is an awesome feeling finishing and seeing it in stores :) .... Now I need to get back into the swing of life without overtime... leaving work at 5 today I was at a loss at what to do :P so I reformatted my HDD and re-installed just PS and Max ready to start doing some personal work before the next project goes full swing :) Im not a massive character modeller but Dom war is looking interesting:think:

Gav - hope your work mates enjoy it :)

Now I gotta hope my end of project bonus is big enough to pay for the holiday I've booked in LA for August :P

People need to learn to look at the dates of posts.

If I get it, can I tell people my friend worked on it? lol jk jk

But congrats are in order. That has to be a surreal feeling knowing you just pushed your first title out the door. Great job man.

@bigjohn

Guess I'm one of those people. lol Someone bumped it right to the top, so I thought it was a fresh post. My bad. I knew it sounded familiar, guess my obliviousness just caught me.
