Well I'm working on a personal project that has the need to rig a quadruped and a biped with a weapon (just for posing purposes, not animation ). Thought I would pick some of your brains. How do you go about doing it, and or are there any good tutorials out there?

Just going to pose? Well if you have zbrush you can try Transpose Master to pose the objects. I normally just use Biped and Pysique since I suck at painting weights.

What app are you using?
If you're using max and just want to pose the character, then biped is a good option as Aftermath stated.
zBrush is also good for just posing.
If you want more than just posing the character, then you've asked a rather naive question. Rigging is really a full-fledged profession in its own right. Asking a rigger "How do you go about doing it?" is like asking a mechanic "How do you build a racecar engine?" There is ALOT more to it than can be explained in a forum.
Now, if you want tutorials, that we can help you with!
Max ships with a fairly decent tutorial on rigging. Its a little dated, but hits the fundamentals pretty well.
Also check out CGTalk's rigging forum. There is a whole thread dedicated to tutorials. http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?f=54&t=49073

ty, I will check it out. I have only been at 3ds max since the start of dw3 so I'm still at the, what the hell do I do next stage. Just looking to learn as much as I can. I use 3ds max and z brush but I have no idea how to go about it in z brush. I have done a few bipeds in 3ds max so I think I will start there and learn as I go.
