I've come across a bug in Max 2009 when trying to pose a biped in figure mode. When I position the neck, it looks fine, but as soon as I exit figure mode to pose/animate, the neck snaps back to an upright position.

Here's a thread about it in The Area (http://area.autodesk.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/14424/). This problem has been around for awhile, and it doesn't appear to be fixed. I was just wondering if anyone here has dealt with this problem before, or knows a fix/work-around for it. Thanks!

I've come across a lot of bugs whilst using bipeds in my short time using Max 2009. Autodesk doesn't appear to be listening... :(

this is a known bug... it is also a pain in the ass. while you can still position the bones an all and can probably get by with it, I recommend using 2008.

Yep, 2008 so far is stable and I haven't had any issues with it. In Max 2009, many people complain on how they must build their own Rigs due to cetrain bugs in the pre-existing ones.

I've been using Max for years, and I know there is a certain love for the biped due to ease of use. But honestly I find making my own rig works better every time.

I much prefer CAT to the Biped...more freedom.

Thanks for the replies... I'll have to see about reactivating my 2008 copy. It is currently sitting on a failed hard-drive.
