View Full Version : XNormal Preview Problem

Hi all-

I've got an issue here with viewing a piece of my model in Xnormal's previewer. When I view the pieces of the individually, it gives me no problems, but when I attach them into one mesh or view multiple individual meshes, it gives me strange errors as follows.

One piece of the geometry will display correctly - the "shield" part. The other part, the cannon and the little visor get darker on certain triangles as you pull the camera away, eventually becoming completely black. The shield part has no problem.

As I mentioned before, if I try to view the cannon by itself - no problem. Visor by itself - no problem. I've tried tweaking the UVs, resetting Xforms, rerendering normals, whatever - I cannot understand what is causing this. If it were a problem with Xnormal I could understand, but I have rendered out almost the entire geometry for the tank so far with no issues like this. This is driving me nuts.

I was also getting this problem on a mesh of mine. It was only occuring when I applied a normal map though. I think it is something to do with xnormals itself as I never used to have any problems with the same model before.

Thanks - it was frustrating the crap out of me. I've let it go for now as I don't see anything wrong with the normals. If anybody else has any input, feel free!
