Codemasters Central Technology team is looking to expand it's programming support network for the TIGA award winning technology, EGOTM, which powers Operation Flashpoint 2, Race Driver: GRID, Colin McRae: DiRT.
This is an exciting and varied job which is not linked directly to a project team. The candidate will be working on a variety of Codemasters projects which utilise the EGOTM technology. The role may also involve giving technical presentations/training and assisting in the external projects.
The ideal candidate would have a broad technical knowledge, an ability to jump into all areas of code, be immediately approachable and be enthusiastic about game development. Field Application Engineering experience with a middleware company would be a bonus.

Main roles and responsibilities:
To manage the technical relationship between Codemasters' Central Technology Group and development studios using the EGO game engine and tools.
To contribute to, and where appropriate to lead, special development projects for commercial partners involving EGO technology.
To assist the EGO Product Manager and business development team in engaging new business and building new revenue streams. Evangelise EGO technology both inside and outside of Codemasters.
To resolve licensees' technical queries related to EGO engine and tools, leveraging CTG resources where necessary; track and log all enquiries; Advise and guide licensees toward adopting appropriate techniques; ensure a positive and productive experience for all developers using EGO technology.
To develop expert knowledge on EGO products and systems; become capable of providing specialist consultancy and training services for external partners; participate in recruitment process; train and mentor colleagues.
To create and maintain EGO developer resources; specify, create and maintain demo applications, adhering to Codemasters programming processes and standards; create training materials and presentations; work with the technical documenter to ensure the EGO SDK documentation meets uniformly high standards of quality and usability.
To analyse developer feedback, and work with the team leads to specify and schedule new features and enhancements to the EGO system.
Candidate profile:
2.1 or above in a relevant degree (maths / physics / computer science / computer games technology)
3 A Levels or equivalent at B or above ( of which two must be Science and not including General Studies)
2 completed games project
4 years plus IT or games industry experience
Major high level language, preferably C or C++
Computer architecture knowledge
Engineering/support experience with a commercial middleware company
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Articulate and approachable.
Ability to mediate and negotiate, balancing customers' requirements and Codemasters' objectives.
Customer-focused, diplomatic and polite, an excellent ambassador for the company.
Flexible, first-rate time management.
