Hey! Starting this thread for some works of mine that I want to revamp/finish off. So I am posting them here as motivation to actually finish them (and spare myself public humiliation). Comments and constructive crits are more than welcome. Composition and perspective are some of my (weak areas) and current intentionally focal learning points, so if I fail at the design phase and need to start over, feel free to give that crit.
So... an older sketch I have been wanting to finish/re-attack (counter-attack?):

This is a recent Concept Tag (http://boards.polycount.net/showflat.php?Cat=0&Board=2&Number=43044&page=0&fpart=22) from Polycount (check the link if you want to see the trail):

I kinda like this guy and am looking to flesh him out more.

Today's doodle:

So.. yeah... gotta get these to a "finished" state. Whether painting, concept, or model.

thanks funk. If you have any crits or thoughts, I'd definitely love to hear them
little bit of doodling over top to try some different directions:

I actually like your work pretty much, just the colored robo has wierd colors. Gold + blue looks somekind ok but the pattern and red light is bit more wierdo...

I think it is important to try new colour combinations - kind of push the art in
new directions and your colors certainly do just that and I love it - TryForce "weird" is good, hehe.

Just what Amethyst wrote, I really like this piece!
The only "weak" spot I can see right now is his thigh:
First; the chess pattern is drawing too much attention in my opinion, maybe tune it down a little. (The subtle one on the shoulder works perfectly for me.)
And second; compared to the rest this straight shape doesn't work too well. It really breaks the flow and makes it look somewhat unfitting. A little curvature might already work wonders.

It's really good to get some honest criticism. I love you guys!
I took your guys' advice on the leg and chest, Also tried to pop the head out just a wee bit more with a highlight.

I think I am pretty well done with this for now. On to one of the others!

oh... chess... not chest... *duh* well.. I tweaked the chest anyway :)

Hehe...
Well, the chest still works pretty well after all, I would even say a tad better than before.
The leg fits in a whole lot better now, but I would probably still attenuate the pattern a bit.
Great work none the less.

digging the lil doll or figure there you should make a larger version of him. Also finish your punk pet image your working on i think if you add a shell to it you already have a great snapping turtle. The style is just awesome.
