Did a few doodles to get me familiarised with drawing kakashi.

Its a real challenge to try and make a already cool character even cooler...but i'll do my best!

its true, trying to make a cool charater cooler is hard. But you are on your way.

looking at these grey scale drawings got me thinking, it would be pretty darn cool to see everything in black and white, then, BAMF, you see his red eye.

Would really stand out from the others.

man you got some awesome drawings for now. the sitting pose looks natural as the shading looks quite good.

the head potrait looks pretty cool aswell, although maybe dont try to give his mouth a shape when it covered, he is wearing 2 masks, so it would be hard seeing his mouth moving in anyway.

Tryforce - Thanks for pointing out the issue with the face mask. I agree with you.

Finally found some time to make some progress. Did a couple of sketches..basically just playing with the poses. The costume is pretty much decided. Its gonna be solid snake in the ninja era :D....Currently looking at #1, 3 and 5, which i think might work. I also wanted to try out the idea Big Toe suggested and so I modify the face portraiti had...just to see how it will feel. I might go for that look for the final piece. Suggestions n crits are most welcomed.

I do like the black and white with the single red eye. it does carry a lot of power behind it. love to see you develop it more.

The poses are all pretty general. I like number 1, but also think 6 could be fun to see. 2 and 3 seem kind of stiff.

why dont you make a sidestory like picture ? ;D all these poses are pretty good like ydouwant2know(gosh, dude, get another nick O_O, takes long to write it,lol) said.

otherwise there is a problem, you got to good skills to give you right suggestions. You probably will be able to do 1000 pictures and all of them will look TopNotch.

ummm.... why not try some poses where he performs some hand seals and copies another ninja's jutsu..... well, he is copycat ninja-kakashi

#5 adds a bit of mystery as to what he is doing...also 3/4 and more interesting than the straight on views in others...the head study is getting a bit lost in the hair...background is merging with the hair a bit...a highlight or toning down the background might add some seperation...looking great.

Thanks everyone for your inputs and kind comments. I agree with brain_h about the poses being too general...I wish i have the time to explore more dynamic and intersting poses...a pose which really compliments kakashi. But alas...deadline is reaching soon..and i'll have to make a choice on what i already have. My final pose is sort of a mix between no.1 and no.3. below is the wip.

Looking really good so far.

Small thing, the arm that is holding the dagger, if you look at his body line that leads up to his shoulder, this body line does not line up correctly with his shoulder. The body line makes his shoulder look like it has been pushed 4 inches into his upper body. I think to correct this, you might need to pull in his entire right side so that his shoulder will be properly aligned. Also, this would make him thinner.. which could be a good think for kakashi;)

Besides this small detail, I like everything else. Especially his feet and lower leg designs:thumb: Keep up the good work!

Well heres a third idea...lol. I think the head isn't so much big as it lacks a neck...his neck seems really short. Maybe just me though.

Final update of my beauty shot. Thanks FredH, thatdon, brian_h and evil for your crits. I did what i could with the neck, an easy fix...reduced the size of the alittle...and use liquify tool (keke) to push the shape of the shoulders and body abit...and appreciate the kind comments other has put in.

For the final image..i decided to colour it instead of leaving it grayscale. Reason being....i think red eye idea would work better if its just a close up of the face and the eye can be seen clearly. With the whole figure...well..its just a small red dot and the idea is lost. thats how I feel. I'll be finishing up the model sheet tomorrow. Any last minute crits are welcomed.

very nice work here. LOVE the clothing and armor so much, the only thing that stand out to me is the head seems to have the weird egg shape to it. maybe try to show off the jaw line more?

Sweet! :D That's looking pretty good. You're right about the grayscale/red/idea lost thing.
As for the colored version, doesnt the sharingan have like, 2 or 3 black spots in it? Other than that, maybe make the bg a little less white? I find it a bit distracting, my eye keeps wandering to the bright spot on the bg instead of kakashi. But then again, that's just me ;) Looking good :D

Kakashi looks super cool. Well, I believe given the time, I am sure you can cook someting up. Modeling sheet looks good and clean.
