also why not try combining him w/ his inner monster/ichibi ??

Man, first thing that hit me is that sand clock in exchange of the gourd. Nice! He does look crazy but more like clueless crazy in the initial concept sketches but the redesign hits home on that crazy expression.

I dig the hourglass setup. Such as sand through the hourglass, so are the days of our narutarded lives. Did you change his overall attitude? He looks far more scared and insecure. Either way, good stuff.

I just finished watching Shippuden last week and that's definitely bleeding into the poses now. There's some really nice scenes of him talking with Kankuro about reforming his ways as well as some sad comparisons to Naruto in terms of loneliness.

I'm aiming for barely held together with this Gaara design, with some very nervous body posturing...kind of like a scared and rabid racoon that's been backed into a corner.

This is really refreshing, It still hangs onto some of the anime characteristics with a subtle twist. It reminds me of Furi Kuri and all of its crazy awesomeness. I like the sketch on the right, however it seems just a little busy, but then again that could compliment his crazy personality. The hair is wild and the jacket is great, maybe exaggerate the hair even more? Nice work here :thumb:
