For those of you non brits, pants is slang for bad/crappy.
I think one problem is that your colors are muddy. It looks like you've used dodge and burn, or a greyscale overlay layer to put in painted detail.
I'm not really sure what advice to give on how to fix it, other than a kind of restart to the whole thing. I'd suggest laying out each material as a solid color, with only your overlays for detail, and any light bakes you might have done. Then start painting in details, but use actual colors you've picked, that go along with the color of your material. Right now it looks like an odd mix of photo source and some painted details, but they aren't really blending well right now.

hm...it looks worse now , before you couldnt quite get what was what, but you had crisp detail , right now i dont know what is what and everything is blurred , also i cant see a normal map beeing used here, i would recomend you learn the bases before going to normal mapping, loads of people nowadays do this, they start using normal maps detail without even knowing how to paint a ncie difuse texture or model a decent highpoly model .
dont feel discouraged thou man, persistance and practise will make it look better :)

jonny: yeah man this was a bit of a sketchy model, im considering leaving it alone and just getting on with a new model. ive learnt alot from this mistake but in the end of the day i dont really need this model for anything anymore (it was for a mod but its gone tits up now )
cheers :)
