How do I add extra geometry to a zbrush tool as I am modelling. I'm sculpting a wolf coming out of a trapdoor - and I need to add the trapdoor?

import any obj if u need to, or use any primitive. when ur wolf tool in edit mode choose the subtool menu from the tool palette and click append, there will be a pop up for u to choose any tool within the scene. then its part of ur wolf tool. select it when u need to work with it separately. note u can't work with multiple subtools at once. do it one by one.

What he said - also from Zbrush central download the free plugin Subtool master, it makes appending meshes a little bit easier.. then at the end you can (if you wish) use it to combine all your subtools into one mesh for export.

Subtool Master is a must have plugin anyway. The only way to retopo a model with multiple subtools into one mesh is to merge those subtools. SM does that well, in addition to mirror stuff.
