Looks good from what I seen. Definitely NOT Pixar-like family stuff, which is a big plus for me lately.

About the only thing that annoys me is that they attached Tim Burton's name to this... right in the forefront. It is CLEARLY still Shane Acker's baby.

To me, it should have been something like:

"From Visionary Director Shane Acker...."
"Tim Burton Presents...."
"9"

A subtle distinction, but you've gotta think that Acker deserves more than being tossed in as last credited creator. Granted, it's his big screen debut and Burton's name carries more weight, but I hate it when they attach names like that. If this is a success, Burton will get all of the credit in the press and Acker will essentially get the finger.

My friend told me about this movie a few days ago. Said "Hey Tim Burton's new movie looks cool". To me, that's an instant "who-gives-a-shit?" I hate Tim Burton, always have.

"How can you hate him? He directed nightmare Before Christmas?." A lot of people say, and I say, "no he didn't. Henry Selick did" While I think that movie is an over-rated piece of tripe, Burton gets the credit for directing it. It's kinda like the Quentin Tarentino disease. He grabs movies that didn't get a lot of hype, but he likes, re-releases them with the "Quentin Tarentino Presents:" logo on top, and suddenly people think he directed them. It's sad and annoying.

But on the topic of the movie 9, from the trailer it gets a big fat "meh" from me. Looks like the same old same old, all over again, just with sack boys this time. YAY!! Sack boys? SACK BOYS??! Lame.... But it'll still go over great with the Hot Topic teen crowd, cause dammit, "Tim Burton made it, and he made the Nightmare Before Christmas". I think I'm gonna puke now

I think that it was set to coincide with the release of Duke Nukem Forever. ;)

Well, in response to all of your crits..

Shouldn't the credit go to the 3D artists who brought Tim Burton/Shane Acker's "baby" to life. Gah, we're like the drummers of the band here. lol
