Guys/gals,

this is my first ZBrush plug-in, featuring automatic unwrapping which beats AUV and GUV in all regards, and in some regards should be better then manual unwrapping. :)

Check it out at http://speedy.rs/prouv, it is currently in "open beta" phase and all your feedback is quite welcome!

Thanks!

Glad you found it helpful!

No worries about the expiry, it should be available for ordering soonish, and if not, I'll extend the beta until it gets available.

Cheers! :)

Very nifty I wonder how this will work with hardsurface mechanical objects, I will have to test it on my tank in a bit.

Call me a skeptic, but I'll wait until ZB4. Plugins and scripts have a habit of breaking between versions. I'd rather not get up my hopes for a plugin that may end up not working (well) in 2 months.

Aftermath I tested it on the mechanical part I'm working on today
It didn't go over too well
seems to work best on organic pieces, rather than combined hard surface objects

that said it is still a nice alternative for some objects

I could be wrong but I don't think it is an end all solution, just an aid for when you use texture to do intensity masks and so forth, I wouldn't use it for the final low rez base object

@3D skillet: Can you provide more details on your tests, I'm really curious. It should be working well on all sorts of models..

@cookepuss: No worries, I'll port it to ZB4 when it is out. (ProUV developer here)

I tried your knew beta , and it worked this time.

512 covered 0 to 1 texture space

2048 covered the tex space from the pict i sent to you but did it correctly this time

Cheers, glad that the new beta works! Please double-check if you did correctly set both texture width and height to 2048 before unwrapping. :)

I am interested in this, but what about the fact that ZB4 is close to a release? Will this still work? Is there to be a free update? Thanks.

Good question - it will be ported to ZB4 as soon as it is out, and the upgrade will be distributed free of charge. :)
