I have been fighting back and forth for the last few days as to whether or not I should join. Then I got board and thought, what the hell, I may be starting late, but that just makes it more interesting. After much thought, I decided to go with the character of Deidara. We are both a lot alike. He is an artist, loves explosion, and is a complete nut job. :D Plus I wanted to do a character that no one else was modeling. I'm just funny like that sometimes. This is what i have so far, i hope to have the low poly done sometime tonight. I still have just about 2500 tri left for the face hair and coat.

i normaly start by the head xD but this looks pretty promising so far, keep it up!

And starting so late is really more interesting ;D

Normally I would start with the head, and then work on the body. However, I have been having a hard time getting the face to look the way i want on paper, so i put it off and started on the body. Started late, can't wast too much time. :D

will you make him in the coat or wihtouth the coat and damaged?

I thinking open damage coat. so kind of both. I know i want to change up the clothing some. i was thinking of leaving the shirt off to show his hidden mouth, play that up a bit with the texturing; more elaborate seals and tattoos and such

No harm in starting a little late. So did I. Some of the best things I've made are under tight deadlines and a lot of pressure. The modeling looks good so far. What are you thinking for the outfit? I did Kisame who I think wears a similar outfit and I completely changed it. I'm interested to see how you'll go about it. Good luck.

Well I was not able to finish the low poly as soon as i would have liked, but i think i just about got it. Still a few more tweaks I may make, and i still can do some optimizing if i need the tri.

You nailed his head pretty good!!!!

really cool man, though i remember him abit more lanky, Means thinner legs as thinner arms maybe? longer legs (just abit) can be cool also!

keep it up! texture! how much tris so far?

Not sure on the exact count, my computer is rendering another project. I'm somewhere between 4750-4850 tri. i still have a few things to add as well as some things that i can take out. so i should be good there.

I'm not sure how much Normal work i have to do with it, but i know i have some. so high poly model is up next. Then i should be able to start final textures some time next week.

Well I surprised even myself and got it submitted. I'm not as happy with it as I could be... ran out of time... but overall I really liked how everything turned out.

It has been a long couple of weeks, and I have not had as much free time as I would have liked, but such is life.

Rigging was well, fun... the hair and coat were a pain, had to rig them all separately, I was starting to work on facial morphers when time ran out. Oh well, I guess it’s time to start the next project.
