View Full Version : Questions about zBrush retopology...

I tried retopologizing in zBrush, and I have a couple of questions...

First, is there a way to hide part of the high res model so that I can zoom in and retopologize tight areas (like the hands or between the toes)?

Second, is it best to have perspective turned on or off when retopologizing? Yesterday, I started retopologizing something, and realized that perspective was turned off. When I turned it on, the retopologized mesh no longer conformed to the high-res... So, I scrapped it.

EDIT:

After a little experimentation, I found out that parts of the high-res mesh can be hidden... However, I haven't gotten to the hands yet, so I don't know how or if that will work out.

I also discovered that it's a bad idea to retopologize with perspective turned on. As a matter of fact, it's so inaccurate that it isn't even funny. . . Which makes me kinda sad that I scrapped all the work I'd done yesterday. Oh well, live and learn.

EDIT 2:

New question: is it a bad idea to get rid of that first zsphere that's floating aimlessly in space? Does it mess up anything in the pipeline later on?
