Let hope that it stays faithful to the wonderful animated series and that it doesn't suck!

woot, i saw it earlier at work today :D ... The trailer looks pretty sick , just hope m.night wont add any twist to an already great series

I have to admit....Avatar is one of my guilty pleasures. I think the show is great, would have loved it when I was a kid. Actually, I do now even though I am I guess "too old" for such things (although are we ever too old for a great cartoon?).
Here's to hoping it doesn't suck :thumb: .

No ones ever to old for good quality "Up" entertainment.;)

M.Night isn't writing (as far as I know) and that's where he usually screws up. His directorial style is okay, I guess. I think they just wanted to attach a name to it.
Loved the show, and I am cautiously optimistic; as usual with a Hollywood adaption. Not much to judge yet, though I think the air effects would be cooler if they were blue, like in the series. It's kind of hard to see based on faint white smoke blowing around. It's magic, the air can take on any colour it wants when bent! They should make use of that to make it look cool.

~ Loved the cartoon. Can't wait for this, i can't imagine they could screw it up too much.
It's a very western style of storytelling in the show so it could translate well.

The answer to that question is never. And they attach his name to the movie like that means something. Maybe if he made ONE good movie, it might, but considering all the turds he's put to film, does adding "M. Night Shyamalan" to the title impress anyone?
I tried getting into the show, but I just couldn't. Maybe it's cause I was a little tardy to the party, though. I keep hearing how great it is, and all that. Do you have to be into anime to like it? Do you have to like dragonball to like it? Cause I'm a big fat no on both of those. Anime's ok if it's not screaming anime, example you can't just shoot one missile, you gotta shoot a hundred at a time. And Dragonball was just plain stupid.
I'll give this movie a chance though. could be neat if I ignore all other influences, and just try to enjoy it

i just hope they don't white wash this one is all. its supposed to be based on the different Asian influences and cultures so i'm hoping it'll have an Asian cast.

saw the trailer for the second time last night, this time on the big screen before Transformers... it actually looked less impresive this way...

I really thought this was going to be another joke trailer. It could be interesting, but with M. Night Shyamalan I don't know. Especially with his fascination with unnecessary twists in plot. I noticed at the end it credits him with writing, directing, and producing it, sounds like a really bad combination.

Signs is one of my favourite films. :inocent: I could go into the numerous reasons why, but I get the feeling it would be falling on deaf ears. :paper:

Dont know if this movie will be good  I like the cartoon series but a movie with such effects? It is possible these days but I dont want to see ugly greenscreen effects and 'hey-look-im-flying-by-cable'-shots :p
Although I'm always curious so Ill check it out when its in the cinema :)

i don't think m night shyamalan's quite as bad as everyones making out. signs is good, unbreakable is ok, and everyone loves the 6th sense, i personally havnt seen it lol. i didnt see the happening, and the village was a big poo pie, but hes not a terrible director

I actually really like the Village, I can see why people criticise it, but I like the concept and visual parts of it, and it has a brilliant soundtrack.
Sixth Sense is the only other one of his I've seen, and enjoyed that too.

I don't care if it's called "The Greatest Movie Ever"(which may be something he would make), if it has his name in it, you know the trailer is gonna be awesome, but the movie will SUCK. Pass.
*What a twist!!*
