Firstly I apologise if there is already a thread about this somewhere, I had a search but it didn't turn up anything.

Anyway, I've now finished my degree, so now I reach the point where I need to start applying for jobs. This means I need to update my CV to be applicable to game art jobs, which I'm not sure how to approach, most of my internet searches seem to bring up a more fine art rather than commerical art approach with stuff about listing exhibitions etc.

Anyway, my thoughts being that as there are a lof of professionals around here, what kind of stuff should/could a CV have beyond just 'generic CV + programs I can use'. I thought its probably worth getting peoples oppinions first as I have a tendency to either be unsure what to put and end up with too little or write everythign and end up with too much.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreicated!

Hi Alexjh: You might find this thread interesting started by Hellmark
http://www.gameartisans.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9354. When you look for a position in the game industry your PORTFOLIO is most important. Anyhow, I'm sure you will get more info soon. You can go to artists websites and see what information they give. Good Luck with your CV:)

I actually had quite a few lectures giving advice on portfolios while I was at uni, so I'm slightly more comfortable with what I'm at least supposed to be doing, even if in practise its harder to pull off.

I must admit I hadn't even considered the need for a CV as well until I've started looking at online job listings which have been asking to have a CV sent to them.

I'll definatly check out that thread though, thanks for the hellp!
