:cry: I cannot add anything to decrease your expectations about the results. They will be done, but there is no exact date when it will happen, so I do as you, check often. There were about 600 entries + and I keep on looking at the art and I always find details in somebody's art that I missed. This whole thing is a learning experience for me as well as the waiting (which also is an experience since I'm pretty much a very impatient person in many areas and waiting for something like this is tuff):)

as far as emailing goes, I got a feeling it will go the same way the Dom War went, no emails, just waiting till someone says, hey, the results are up.:cry:

been exactly a month since the last update :( Im sure it will be here soon and will be awesome but in the meantime I think we should do "top ten crying artists that theres no results yet!" I reckon I would be quite high :D

Results would be nice, but I think just getting all the actual finished entries able to be viewed would be a lot less frustrating for some of us. Trolling through 600 threads is really not an option for most of us and makes us miss some cool ass art.

Updates to Insurgency have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

New features


Added fully-configurable Spawn Protection System

New morale & scoring system

Players now will earn morale points when suppressing enemies (wounding & eliminating targets)

Eliminating enemies within capture areas (while attacking or defending) provides a boost in morale points

The Kill / Death Ratio (KDR) of the player is taken into account and provides an additional bonus multiplier to the player's score

Added server option ins_spawnprotection. Disabled by default, when set to 1 it will read the settings of the server .sps files (placed at the Maps folder) and enable the Spawn Protection System

Added console command ins_showsps to allow players to check the Spawn Protection Settings of the server for the current map

Ammo caches now have a per-player timer. You can only restock your ammo after a period of time to prevent grenade / RPG spamming from ammo cache locations.

Bug fixes & Updates

Improved M203 grenade launcher

Corrected ironsight alignment for several weapons

Spectators can now see other player's weapons in first person

Player hitboxes have been corrected. Prone hitboxes are now accurate

You can now see the tracers of other players when they're using LMGs

Revamped several weapons

Updated Various Weapon Selection UIs

Weapon animations improved

The M203 position has been adjusted

New skins and textures for the Insurgent characters

New death/spectator menu

Improved player and team-mate icons on the overhead map

More accurate collision models for many props

Improved many in-game sounds

Due to a few setbacks, the results for the Comicon Challenge‘09 has experienced a massive delay.

The results for the Comicon Challenge will be revealed on January 4th 2010.

Although it wasn't apparent on the forums, there has been a lot going on behind the scenes to insure GA's continuation into 2010 and beyond. As a result, competitions like Dominance War IV, Comicon Challenge 09, and Unearthly Challenge'09 could be started, but there have been serious difficulties to complete them. Completing a challenge requires a tremendous amount of work - Gather judges, organize votes, gather a massive amount of champion emails, conduct interviews, collect and organize wallpapers, send prizes to everyone all over the world, design web pages for the finals, print and paint 40+ champion medallions, and much much more. All this combined with the needed launch of GameArtisans’ office Gallery Lounge in February 2010, has pushed GA’s resources way over its capabilities.

Again, The Comicon Challenge will be concluded on Monday, January 4th 2010. Unearthly Challenge will be concluded the Monday after.

Apologies for the long wait. I realize, as mentioned by a few artists in this thread, that everyone put in a lot of work into their entries. I hope that the revealing of the results will make everyone proud of their accomplishments as many artists pushed themselves into spectacular levels during this comp.

I must now lock this thread so that everyone can see this final post. A new thread will be created when the champions are announced - Monday, January 4th 2010.
