Unearthly Challenge 2009 | Team Sleep | 3D

Time to have some fun. Just tossing ideas out of various states of End Game.

Concept 1 - Death and Destruction.
Quote:
The last great battle between The Artisan Clan and the Polycounters left our heros cut and bruised. There have been many skirmishes over the past year, but the Polycounters are holding strong on their home planet, making bold and outlandish attacks on every Game Artisan settlment throughout the galaxy. All of a sudden, there wasn't a single Artisan to be seen. The Polycounters claimed victory and planned their next move. Then one day on the Polycounters homeworld asteroids began to fall from the sky, destroying Polycounters left and right. The General of the Artisans yelled: "Destroying all the Polycounters bases and their horde is not enough!! I want to wipe their very existance from the galaxy!". And with that a massive warship breaks the clouds and from within an asteroid so huge it could destroy the Polycounters entire planet many times over ... "We're not gonna knock on their door, we're gonna kick that ish down!". The tethers are released and the asteroid is sent hurling towards the surface.

So I sent the link to a few friends, they were like "WTF. Just blow it up." So, I'm gonna do concept one. Starting designing the last Polycount outpost/fortress/city. Also, 7 weeks isn't that long when you look at it. !

I'm thinking about how to make a huge impact on the presentation of this. The angle above isn't very dramatic IMHO.

The end result will be rendered in UnrealED. When I get down to the modeling phase, I would like to record it and share with everyone at the end.

lol!! I only came to this concept from watching Invader Zim.

The above concept really should have less rubble, like people still live there and some spaceships. I'm so horrible at concept . I like making what people have already drawn.

Been racking my brain all day on how to convey my next concept. Chilling at the hospital doing doodles on the iPod right now.

Changing the view just to see what it's like from the center of a city. The reason why I am doing these different views because it will dictate the workflow. If I decide to make a base/outposts, then it would be more terrain based.

To make a quick cityscape, random select then extrude, then select the tops, then random select then move up. It's good that I went ahead and did this. I'll make a choice on what view to do at the end of the night and get started on it.

Drew a few building ideas, and wanted to show the outpost as pretty advanced/techish. And took a liking to these bits over the others I came up with. Making them modular now. Should be able to make almost any shape I need in any height.

Got a lot of the enemy base stuff done... tomorrow is actual work-work. Get these people taken care of and back to the fun. I want to have all the building bits done and places by Sunday to get a feel for how it's laid out. Still have to make the road and large canons and other bits... AHHHH!! Have to design some space ships!!
